In the running for dumbest Hogg Tweet

No, dipshit.  I’m pretty sure hating racism is widely accepted.

What isn’t accepted is the idea that tax cuts are racist, gun rights are racist, all Trump supporters are racist, and all white people are racist.

The “everything I don’t like is racist” argument just a way of these people hating everyone they disagree with and not having to address the legitimate criticisms.

This may not be his dumbest Tweet, but it has to be in the top ten.

Whatever happened to The Parkland Brats Bus Tour?

Apparently the March For Our Lives Bus Cult is out there and not making a lot of noise. I found an article in the Sun sentinel where they happened to drop by West Palm Beach at the Mar a Largo club and the picture of the group…well was not precisely the stuff you would expect from a well-organized “grassroots” organization.

After a bit more of googling, I found out that they were in Naples, Fl doing voting registration in the lobby of a local multiplex theater.

This is pitiful. Is what millions of dollars in Bloomberg money invested in teenagers came to be? This is almost as pitiful as a former presidential candidate doing a book sign at Costco.

Apparently they are in Dallas today according to their schedule. And after that they will engage other cities, but they are not being specific exactly where in those cities they will show up. My guess is they are afraid our people will show up and troll them merciless.

Hey, at least they are getting to see the country on Bloomie’s dime.

Chicago: I am not sure what the goal might be.

This is a Peace (read gun control) March headed by Jesse (Looking for Political Resurrection) Jackson and  Father Michael (Cuckoo) Pfleger. Allegedly they are protesting Chicago’s gun violence.

My question is, why are they in a highway? Much gun killing done then, Kemo Sabe? Why aren’t day marching for the peace in the neighborhoods most affected by this violence they protest?

It makes as much sense as protesting against High cholesterol in the parking lot of the Miami Seaquarium. But we know the real reason: not one of the “leaders have the balls to actually go where the violence is located and risk getting a bullet for their efforts.

I’ll answer Shannon Watts

Miguel shared this Tweet from Shannon Watts.

I thought I would respond.

I’ve done that.

Not the shooting a carjacker part, but the leaving a kid in a running car with a loaded gun.

This woman’s kids are two and four years old.  Assuming she is obeying the law, her kids are in car seats.  They are restrained.

As a parent, I have left my kid in car seat if I’ve had to go inside an pay for gas.  Hauling a toddler out of a car sear is a pain in the ass.  Two by yourself is nearly impossible.

When I lived in Chicago, I’d do that in the winter so I wouldn’t have to expose the boy to the driving snow if I had to run into the CVS with for diapers.

This is Texas in July, I would bet cash that she left the car running to keep the AC going so her kids wouldn’t over heat in the car.

As per the gun in the car.

Yes, on body carry is best.  But what if you work in a place that doesn’t allow concealed carry.  I do.  I have a 9mm that lives in the center console of the truck for that very reason.

Now when my kid is old enough that he’s not locked into a car seat, my gun will have to find a new home.  All my guns at home are locked in safes.

So here is a woman, who didn’t want to wrestle two toddlers out of their car seats to take them into the gas station, presumably to pay for gas or buy a drink, some quick errand, and left her gun in the glove box where her kids restrained in the back couldn’t reach it.

I call that reasonable parenting.

With my old truck I could leave the engine running and take the key fob and lock the car remotely.  With my new truck, the key fob is the engine key and I won’t be able to do that anymore (I actually like the old key system better).

I would figure Shannon Watts is old enough where her parents probably left her in the car when they ran errands.

It is easy to forget what normal parents do from way atop your moral high horse.

To borrow from Watts’ particular brand of feminism, maybe we should teach men not to jump into cars they see running in parking lots instead of blaming women for leaving their cars running.

I have a feeling that a bullet to the face and some time in prison is a hell of a way to learn that lesson though.

Targeted Political Fashion War.

OK, let’s do that. Let’s allow attacking anybody who is wearing a political garment, why don’t we?

That means anybody wearing a Che Guevara t-shirt gets a thorough beat down. Anybody dressed as Antifa, get kneecapped. You parading with a Nazi armband, rotate  the offending limb 90 degrees the wrong way at the elbow. Let’s up the ante, shall we? A Hillary or Bernie bumper sticker and the vehicle gets torched. Do you have lawn sign for some Left Wing candidate? Oh well.

I seriously ask, Is the MAGA hat a hill you want to make your last stand on?

For every one you see, there are hundreds you don’t

Remember the post Miguel made a few days ago about Kino Jimenez, the tolerant Liberal who believes that “love trumps hate” so much he attacked a 16 year old kid for wearing a MAGA hat?

He was arrested.

He tried to justify his actions saying thatseeing the hat had the same effect on him that a Ku Klux Klan hood would have had.”

Two points.

First: it is not legal in the US to attack someone for simply wearing a Klan hood or Swastika or anything else.

Sorry Antifa, you can’t just “bash the fash” if they have peaceably assembled.  It is within their right to do so.  Every civics and history teacher in America should spend a couple of days each school year teaching a segment on National Socialist Party of America v. Village of Skokie.

If Nazis attack me, I’ll shoot the fuck out of them. If they are just standing around waving their flags making “Heil Hilter” salutes, they’re a bunch of assholes but I can’t and won’t don anything to stop them.

Even if a bunch of Klansmen were sitting in a booth, ripping the white hood off of one and throwing a drink in his face is still assault. In America, you have no right to attack someone over their ideology.

Second: show me one MAGA inspired lynching.  One group of Trump supporters who burned a “T” on a Liberal’s lawn.  One  pogrom carried out by people in MAGA hats.

That’s because 63 million Americans are not Klansmen or Nazis for voting for the President of the United States.  That is not an objective or reasonable equivalent in a rational universe.

But those two points are not why I wrote this post.  I wrote this post because of a horrifying fact observed on social media.

Yes, that does make him a bad person.

She thinks that a MAGA hat is fire that must be met with fire.

As they say “what’s good for the goose is good for the gander” and I don’t think she’ll like the fire that fights her fire.

Mark Lamont Hill is a reporter with CNN, just so you know.

At least he’s honest.

This is only a snippet of the support Jimenez is getting online.

For every asshole who throws a drink on a kid, or a woman, or anybody else over ideological or political differences, there are hundreds of people who support that person.

As this continues to escalate, keep that in mind.

This is why Florida style stand your ground laws are more important than ever.

You never know who on the jury might secretly be thinking “it’s totally fine to try to stab someone with a steak knife at a restaurant for wearing a MAGA hat, that’s practically a swastika armband.”
