Month: March 2019

If the standard of law is not good enough, make stuff up till you get what you want.

Trump Derangement Syndrome is so bad that for Democrat Rep. Eric Swalwell “proof beyond a reasonable doubt” is lacking.

Their standard is actually very old and fascist: Guilty till proven innocent and just because an unfounded accusation was made. And as annoying as this bull is, I do hope they continue to keep with their efforts on the now defunct Soft Coup. The more they continue their stupid and irrational behavior, the  better the chances for Trump’s re-election.  Imagine you Average American listening to this idiot and feel a chill down his or her back at the notion that the sacred protections against an overreaching prosecution can be changed just because you are not liked by a particular group of people.  You know that right now there are democrats that are seriously thinking if not voting for Trump in 2020, at least play absentee and not get contaminated with this political sickness.

What we need is to convince Bernie to be selected as candidate  and convince Occasional-Cortex to run as his VP. The hardcore base will vote for them in the primaries and the president will wing both the popular vote and the Electoral College.  We may even retake the House.

Will the Pulitzer Prizes for Treasonus Propaganda be returned?

Let’s not forget that The Washington Post and The New York Times won the 2018 Pultizer Prize for their national reporting of President Donald Trump’s alleged collusion with Russia. They were awarded $15,000 in a joint prize.
The “award winning” journalists include Maggie Haberman, Jo Becker, Matt Apuzzo and Mark Mazetti from The Times and Rosalind Helderman, Tom Hamburger, Ellen Nakashima, Adam Entous and Greg Miller from WaPo.
They received the award “For deeply sourced, relentlessly reported coverage in the public interest that dramatically furthered the nation’s understanding of Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election and its connections to the Trump campaign, the President-elect’s transition team and his eventual administration. (The New York Times entry, submitted in this category, was moved into contention by the Board and then jointly awarded the Prize.)”

Lest We Forget: These Reporters Won Pulitzer Prizes For ‘Deeply Sourced’ Russia Reporting

They went from Deep Throat to neck-deep in horseshit. From Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein to the Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy of news media.  Just remember all that has been published till the report’s release and understand the only thing it did was to confirm and cement the concept of Fake Media.

They have one escape from irrelevance and one escape only: To deeply apologize to the American public and the President.

They won’t do it. They rather sink the Republic than admit they were wrong.

We will rather see them disappear.

The Left “debates” the freedom of speech

I saw this headline in USA Today.

New Zealand debates free speech after ban of accused mosque shooter’s manifesto

They are debating free speech.  There are people in New Zealand who are arguing against free speech.

New Zealanders are debating the limits of free speech after their chief censor banned the 74-page manifesto written and released by the man accused of slaughtering 50 people at two mosques in the city of Christchurch.

Holy shit, New Zealand has an office of Chief Censor.  Really?

That is the kind of job title that you’d expect to see in some medieval theocracy, not a supposedly advanced, Western nation.

The ban, issued Saturday, means anybody caught with the document on their computer could face up to 10 years in prison, while anyone caught sending it could face 14 years. Some say the ban goes too far and risks lending both the document and the gunman mystique.

Ten years in prison for having a PDF full of words.

At the same time, many local media organizations are debating whether to even name the Australian man charged with murder in the March 15 attacks after New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern vowed she would never mention him by name.

Brenton Tarrant.  How about that?

Maybe it’s because my political universe isn’t governed by the rules of Harry Potter, but I do not believe there is magical power in a name.  We are adults, reporting on facts.

In some ways, the accuser shooter’s manifesto provides the greatest insight into his character and thinking, with neighbors and those he met in a gym in the sleepy seaside town of Dunedin recalling nothing particularly remarkable about him.

So it’s worthy of academic study.

The greatest act in modern world history was the Marshall Plan.  We sought to understand what lead to the rise of Nazism so that we could keep it from happening again.

Extremism is the result of legitimate grievances that are allowed to fester in paranoia and bigotry.

Maybe by understanding this guy’s ideology, New Zealand could parse the legitimate grievances from the paranoia and bigotry and deal with an issues likely to radicalize others.

Chief Censor David Shanks said the manifesto contains justifications for acts of tremendous cruelty like killing children and encourages acts of terrorism, even outlining specific places to target and methods to carry out attacks.

Or they could bury it and let it happen again.

In banning the document, Shanks and his staff worried about drawing more attention to it. But in the end, he said, they decided they needed to treat it the same way as propaganda from groups like the Islamic State, which they have also banned.

That makes sense.  The Left refuses to study the main motivating force in Islamism too, and consequently fails to deal with that as well.

Shanks had earlier placed a similar ban on the 17-minute livestream video the alleged killer filmed from a camera mounted on his helmet during the shootings. He said researchers and journalists could apply for exemptions from both bans.

But while free speech advocates haven’t questioned banning the graphic video, they said banning the manifesto is a step too far.

Why do I feel the need to draw a parallel here.  They started by banning the video and the assault weapons.  Now they are banning the manifesto, so next they will ban…

“People are more confident of each other and their leaders when there is no room left for conspiracy theories, when nothing is hidden,” said Stephen Franks, a constitutional lawyer and spokesman for the Free Speech Coalition. “The damage and risks are greater from suppressing these things than they are from trusting people to form their own conclusions and to see evil or madness for what it is.”

New Zealand needs to Google “Streisand effect.

Franks said he had no interest in reading the manifesto until it was banned. He now is curious because it is “forbidden fruit,” he said, and he worries others may feel the same way. He said the ban makes no sense when New Zealanders remain free to read Adolf Hitler’s autobiography, “Mein Kampf.”

Because censorship is always stupid and reactionary.

Ardern told Parliament last week that she wouldn’t give the gunman anything he wanted.

“He sought many things from his act of terror, but one was notoriety,” she said. “And that is why you will never hear me mention his name.”

So you are going to ban all the guns, which is what he wanted.

Good fucking job!

She said people should instead remember the names of the victims.

Some media organizations appear to be taking up her call. News website Stuff on Saturday published an 1,800-word profile on the accused gunman without once naming him.

“Our view at the moment is that we’re dialing back on naming him, unless it’s pertinent or important,” said Mark Stevens, the editorial director at Stuff.

The New Zealand Herald also published a profile with an accompanying editorial that mentions Ardern’s stance. The editorial says, “Our piece keeps the mention of his name to a minimum.”

New Zealand media is a joke.

Keep this in mind as we watch the emerging leaders of the Democrat party, like Bernie Sanders and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez praising New Zealand for “doing something” about assault weapons.

The gun community has an adage, those who don’t respect the Second Amendment, don’t respect the First either.

New Zealand has neither a First or Second Amendment, but proved the sentiment true in about six days.

Is there any reason to believe that Sanders or AOC feel any differently?

Trust that both of them would love nothing more than to ban mention of the failure of Venezuelan Socialism or criticism of the Green New Deal.

Any politician that wants to “do something” about your assault rifle also wants to  “do something” about what you can and cannot read and say.

Car Break-Ins: Another Angle.

WILTON MANORS, FLA. (WSVN) – – Thieves broke into nine vehicles outside of a Wilton Manors apartment complex, but residents said only the owner’s manuals were stolen.

Wilton Manors Police said the burglaries took place along the 2000 block of Northeast Fifth Avenue between 3 and 5 a.m., Monday.
However, residents said the crooks were only after a specific item: their vehicles’ operating manuals.
“I don’t know what to think of it, to be honest with you. It’s very strange,” victim Gary Sikorski said.
Sikorski and his neighbors woke up to find only the passenger side windows were shattered.

Thieves break into 9 vehicles in Wilton Manors — but only take owner’s manuals

These re not your average roaming suckers. Apparently this gang has its aim set much higher than change in the cup holders.

Police said some manuals can contain identification numbers that thieves will try to use to make a new key, and therefore can steal the car.
Some drivers keep important paperwork, such as their vehicle registration, inside of the manual.

My now very old truck came with an emergency plastic key tucked inside the owner’s manual that was supposed to be used in case I lost my regular keys. Since IO have this weird thing that I do not lose keys, I simply tossed it somewhere inside a closet and never gave a thought about it.

I am at a loss as of why they would need the registration paperwork. IKt would be an annoyance to have it lost and go get a copy, but I simply do not know what a thief could do with it. But I did not know you could get copy of the key made with info from the manual. I did know a properly accredited locksmith could do so with the VIN number of the car.

Florida: SB 1238: Safety of Religious Institutions passes the Judiciary committee

Safety of Religious Institutions; Authorizing a church, a synagogue, or other religious institution to allow a concealed weapons or concealed firearms licensee to carry a firearm on the property of that church, synagogue, or other religious institution for certain purposes; authorizing a private school or a religious school to designate a person to carry a firearm on that school’s property, etc.

Votes: 4 YEA and 2 NAY.  Gibson (D) and Rodriguez (D) were for Criminals to attack Religious institutions.

Next stop: Committee on Criminal Justice. Here we have an issue as one of the Republicans is our old adulterous and treasonous Anitere Flores, who sold out to Moms demand on previous years.

We would end up in a tie and I have no ide what would happen next.

As usual, here are the emails so you can start bombing them now.

Broward Schools and Threat assesments found lacking.

If your neighborhood has a bully or a person who is prone to violence, you prepare yourself. You are smart, you document the instances where this person has exhibited  problematic behavior, maybe have even contacted police and explained the situation. Talked to neighbors about the subject and compared notes. If lucky, the jackass moves or simply ignores you. Or there is something similar happening at work rather than at home and you present your complains to your superior and Human Resources laying the ball at their feet.

In both cases, you do not stop there: You have also made plans on what to do with the person around you or to defend yourself in case the things finally get out of hand. In other words, you do your utmost not to be a victim of violence. It is not a 100% guarantee, but we look for a reduction in the percentage of danger.

So what happens when a county school board does a half ass job on students deemed serious threats?

An audit has found that many Broward County schools were not following the proper procedures for conducting “threat assessments” on students who posed a danger.

After the Marjory Stoneman Douglas shooting, the school district asked an outside auditing firm to determine whether administrators systemwide were using all of the required forms and completing them properly.

They were not.

Auditors reviewed a sample of 60 threat assessments — out of 642 entered into a district educational management database over three school years beginning in September 2015. The audit did not include names of schools or students or any specifics of the situations

Is a threat real? Most Broward schools can’t produce paperwork to document their reviews

Let’s look at those numbers again: 642 threats that required assessment. Now add this to the equation: There are 327 schools in Broward County which comes to an average of two serious threats per school. And let’s say only one percent of those threats have the potential to be another mass Shooter or simply somebody who will murder two or one classmate or teacher.

Broward County has the potential of 6 more Nikki Cruz.

But it gets worse:

Among the findings:

— Fourteen cases sampled had no supporting documentation at all.

— Of the 46 that had paperwork, only 16 included records that were “substantially complete.”

— One elementary school evaluation of a “medium-risk” threat was missing 18 required documents.

— Of the samples, no high school conducted a “high-level” threat evaluation properly. One, in fact, did not complete any of the required forms.

The statewide commission reviewed the paperwork for a September 2016 threat assessment done on Nikolas Cruz — the eventual gunman — and found forms missing or incomplete. The school’s assistant principal, Jeff Morford, was unfamiliar with how to do a threat assessment, and the principal, Ty Thompson, was not engaged in the process or routinely informed of them, the commission reported.
Both men are now under internal investigation.

It is getting more and more obvious that the Promise Program was a shell used to whitewash the statistics and make schools look good rather than control possibly dangerous students and avoid violent incidents.

And kids paid with their lives.
