Florida Gun Rights 2020 – HB 289 – Background Checks to Buy Ammunition – BAD BILL

by Daley (CO-SPONSORS) Cortes, J.; DuBose; Eskamani; Fernández; Geller; Gottlieb; Jacobs; Jones; Joseph; Polo; Polsky; Smith, C.
Requires background checks for sale or transfer of ammunition.
In the Criminal Justice Subcommittee.
To make it quick: You will need to fill a form similar to ATF 4473 for ammunition and be subjected to the same procedures as if you were buying a firearm. However, no prohibition on internet sales. But there are other bills down the pike that may take care of that.
Do notice this bill has seemed to pick up sponsors.

What hath NIMBY and the environmentalists wrought? – Updated

This blew my mind:

The last large reservoir in California was built in 1979.  The environmentalists and millionaires have seen to that.

The environmentalists hate dams because of the impact on fish and the millionaires (and billionaires) don’t want to live near dams.

Consequently, the water storage capacity of the state has been massively outpaced by the population growth, while the Progressives who run the state build high-speed rails that nobody will ride on but themselves.

The result is working and middle-class Californians can’t take more than an 8-minute shower every other day.

The celebrities don’t have to worry because they can afford the fine.  If you can afford a $20 million mansion with a Ferrari in the garage, you can afford the fines to cover your shower, laundry, swimming pool, and lush green lawn.

If this is anything, this is a ringing endorsement not to let anyone from California anywhere near a position of Federal power.

UPDATE:

The video has been memory-holed.

According to KTLA5: Correction: A video previously embedded in this post included factual errors about two laws going into effect in 2020 regarding water conservation. The clip has been removed.

This is bullshit.

Elsewhere on the internet, it was taken down through copyright enforcement.  Even videos that were arguably fair use with added commentary.

The media lets all sorts of errors and factual inaccuracies let fly as long as they hurt Republicans.

It seems that the reporters having an on-air realization of just how tyrannical Gavin Newsom and the CA Democrat Monopoly have become, was too much honesty for the media to let be broadcast.

The bill to make you all warm/fuzzy.
-Reduces the penalty fro carrying in a prohibited place from a Felony to a Misdemeanor (exception for mandatory evacuation included.)
-Florida recognizes all States’ CWP, not just the ones from States that accept ours.
-Removing any possible penalty for legally carrying in a pharmacy.
-Cleans the language on legally carrying any firearm in a conveyance.
-Open Carry of firearms.

And a couple of other things I will leave to experts.  And you were getting tired and thinking “Is it only bad bills this year?” Pretty much yes, I think there is another couple of good bills, so yes, 202o sucks

Deputy (TV Show): A Cliche-ridden Wokefest.

Having watched the preview, I was excited to see this show because January usually has low-grade shows to fill the holes left by the main Fall shows. Damn, I was disappointed.

They went woke even before the starting credits were done with a heavy dose of “ICE is a bad federal thing” and our “hero” being chastised for sabotaging a raid.  We get the obligatory L.A. chase scene that ends with a winch trap and the suspension of the laws of physics only to have our hero become the Sheriff of LA County by one of those quirky unattended legal things from a century and a half ago.

And then hit every cheesy police show cliché they could fit in one hour. From the son of a dead partner becoming a deputy (includes inspirational speech to the new graduates), to having doubts about the job but strong sexy wife gives him a kick in the pants. To end the cliche fest with a cherry on top, he is issued a driver/bodyguard on full  “lesbian in business attire” look. Of course she is not just the LGBQT driver, but his Woke Jiminy Cricket who is 1000% more accomplished in life than the White Patriarch she has to drive, plus shoots better than John Wick and gives the proper advice on cue.

Save yourselves and watch something more edifying like The Real Wives of Some Posh City.

Florida Gun Rights 2020 – SB 270 – Sale and Delivery of Firearms – BAD BILL

Another version of Universal Background Checks. On this one there is the option for the seller can keep the gun while the check and according waiting period is happening and notifies the seller if he is good to sell or not.  Also in this version, minors are anybody under 18. Anyway, just another stupid restriction that will give us nothing on the way of safety.

Florida Gun Rights 2020 – SB 266 – “Safe” Storage of Loaded Firearms – BAD BILL

General Bill by Farmer (CO-SPONSORS) Rodriguez; Berman
Safe Storage of Loaded Firearms: Revising the locations and circumstances in which a loaded firearm is required to be kept or secured with a trigger lock; deleting conditions that pertain to the crime of failing to safely store, leave, or secure a loaded firearm in a specified manner, etc.

In the Infrastructure and Security committee.

Although it has a very thin veneer of “safety” in its title, the true reason is to make illegal to carry a firearm if anybody under 16 is present. Interestingly enough, there is no exception for hunting, target shooting or anything else.

Strikeout means it is the law now and they want it to be removed:

You are driving your rugrats to the future Gun Free Zone Child care when you get over by police for failing to signal or running a stop sign. If you are carrying, even in a level III holster like the officer at the scene and you will be arrested for unsafe storage of a firearm.
