Boeing had a yacht

This is a headline that I never expected to see:

Sources: Boeing corporate yacht Daedalus sold for $13M

Boeing had a corporate yacht.

Boeing has had several rounds of layoffs.  According to Boeing, they expect the bloodletting to end sometime in 2021 with a total reduction in force of 30,000 since the beginning of 2020.

Boeing’s goal for this year was to cut 16,000 jobs.  They cut 12,600 from the Seattle area this year already.

After all of that did they finally decide to get rid of the yacht.

Why did they have the yacht in the first place?

The Boeing yacht has been used for entertaining and hosting the airplane giant’s corporate customers, strengthening corporate relationships and philanthropy. In the summers, the Daedalus was often based at Vancouver Island, where its primary role was as a small floating hotel, providing a way for Boeing sales teams and airline customers to get away for fishing trips and conversations in a private setting.

Translation: It was a place where corporate executives could step out on their wives without leaving a paper trail at a hotel.

I can just imagine the conversation in Boeing’s bard room:

Exec 1: “Our major projects have failed.  We are hemorrhaging money.  We need to cut costs.”

Exec 2: “Do you know what time it is?”

Exec 1: “What time is it?”

Exec 2: “It’s RIF o’clock.”

Exec 3: “How about we sell the corporate yacht before we fire people?”

Exec 2: “Fuck you, Gary.  We’re not selling the floating pussy palace.”

Exec 1: “Yeah, Gary.  Do you really expect me to bone my mistress at the Four Seasons like some common day trader?”

Exec 2: “Besides, do you remember how we got the Starliner contract in the first place?”

Exec 3: “Yes… I remember.”

Exec 1: “That was a hell of a blowout, wasn’t it?”

Exec 2: “Man, I remember how you looked at those Congressmen and said (mimics drunken slur) ‘Gentlemen, all aboard the SS Bang Barge, toot toot.'”

Exec 1: “If we don’t have a taxpayer-funded party barge for members of the appropriation committee, how will we ever get another contract every again?”

Exec 3: “I dunno, maybe we could deliver quality products, on time, and on budget.”

Exec 1: “Fuck you, Gary.”

Exec 2: “Yeah, I second that.  Fuck you, Gary.”

Exec 1: “We’re not getting rid of the yacht until it is absolutely necessary, and that’s final.”

Exec 2: “Yeah!  Speaking of… you guys up for hookers and blow on the yacht?”

Exec 1: “Yeah, hookers and blow on the yacht.  Let me call my wife and tell her that I’ll be working late this evening.”

End Scene.

And so, months after several major rounds of layoffs, they quietly sell the yacht.

The thing that frightens me the most about a Biden victory is that it all worked.

If it is official and Biden won the election, the thing that scares me the most is that it all worked.

Followers of this blog know that four years ago I wasn’t a Trump supporter.

In the intervening time, he won me over.  The economy shot up under his presidency.  He actually took on our trade imbalance with China.  He really supported Israel and scored major peace deals in the Middle East.  He killed the real bad guys that were hurting our troops overseas, he had major successes.  I voted for him on Tuesday.

During that time, he was attacked mercilessly in a conspiracy between corrupt members of our bureaucratic state, the elected Democrats, the news media, social media, and social influencers/celebrities.

It has become absolutely and undeniably clear that the Trump Russia conspiracy was a hoax.  It was fabricated by Hillary Clinton and known by the Obama Whitehouse.  Those lies were leaked to the press, the DOJ used those published lies as evidence, the evidence leaked to the press, and around and around it went.

Nevertheless, the narrative was set that Trump was “a puppet of Putin” and “a Russian agent.”

In the early part of 2020, Trump was being impeached by the House Democrats for totally fictitious reasons, right when the Coronavirus was making its way here.

The initial projections were over 2.2 million dead, while the Democrats attacked the travel ban as racist and xenophobic.  The greatest American economy was scuttled on purpose because of these projections.  Then immediately it was all retconned, where the narrative was that Trump failed to manage the virus, all the deaths were preventable had Trump acted, no culpability fell on governors, and the current economy is Trump’s fault, as though all his pre-COVID policies didn’t work.

Harvard’s review of the media coverage on Trump showed 95% of that was negative.  Fifty-seven minutes out of every hour of Trump coverage was negative.

In the video of the federal employee Zoom call I posted, actual federal employees said how they leaked all the damaging stuff they could to the press.  Federal employees used their on-the-clock time to undermine him.

Google manipulated search results against him, Facebook and Twitter censored conservatives.

Celebrities used every moment in front of the camera that they could to attack him.

They pulled out every stop and through every sort of fuckery, destroyed the most effective administration this country has had since Ronald Reagan.

There was nothing so unethical they didn’t do it.  No place too low they wouldn’t go there.  No sewer too filthy that they wouldn’t muckrake in it.  No lie to absurd they wouldn’t say it.

And if Biben wins, it all worked.  There is no honor in this, it is win at all costs.

And if they did it to Trump, that could do it to anyone of us.

Michigan flipped Red?

And this is the link

What the hell is going on? Well, we all know.

Again, if Trump manages to bypass all the cheating and win, he needs to push an electoral reform not seen since the founding of the Republic.

Florida Storm Watch: Eta is coming.

Truthfully, I am not worried about any damage a tropical storm passing nearby will do, but we are getting rain forecasted starting tomorrow and non-stop till sometime next week.

The problem is that it has been raining almost all of October and the ground is already saturated. This was the backyard about a week ago. and yes, that is the infamous Comcast cable/internet box that has issues every time it rains. And yes, Comcast knows and has known for 20 years which is why I use AT&T.

I’ll try to get a picture of the fishes swimming in my lawn and post them here. Incidentally, how cold is getting up North? I saw a bunch of coots yesterday enjoying the rays in the lake.

Deep Space 9 predicts a Biden victory

I love Star Trek TNG.  Now that I’m waiting for Season 5 of the Expanse to start I thought I’d catch up on other Trek, so I started DS9.

I’m in Season 3 and I’ve run into a two part episode, Past Tense.

Commander Sisko and Dr. Bashir get sent to San Francisco in August or 2024.

It is a shithole.  The economy has tanked.  Most people are out of work.  Jobs are handed out by the government to the people who want them.  Most people live in “sanctuary zones” on government rations.  There is still a wealthy tech industry elite that live in luxury, but everyone else is either a low level bureaucrat or a bum.  All your personal information is on the net.

Crime is rampant, civil unrest is at the breaking point, the climax is a massive riot.

This would take place at the end of Biden’s first term.

Star Trek writers in 1995 came up with the worst realistic future they could come up with 29 years later

The worst predictions had are what San Francisco looks like now backed by the kind of economy that Biden will lead us to have.

The episode didn’t say who the president was, but given the evidence, it has to be Biden.
