They are going to cheat again

They seem to think that if they tell us in advance that they are going to cheat then we will have nothing to complain about when they do it.

Self- Inflicted Stupidity

So this happened on Christmas eve while fixing food.

Cut went deep into the knuckle almost perpendicular to it. Bleed like crazy since they have me on a daily regiment of aspirin ()which I will talk to my doc about) and Celox was applied.

I thought I had done all the proper cleaning and application of antiseptics, but  my thumb is now in pain and swollen. I am on my way to the local urgent care franchise  which is closer than the ER and probably less crowded.

And I cannot tell you how many mistakes have been made writing this post. Lack of usable thumb does interfere regular life.

In the meantime, go read Big Country Expat’s post. We my talk about it later in the Forum. He is raising some of the same questions I have been pondering.

Update: Back from the clinic. The wound is closed, so no effing around with it. Lots of antibiotics for 10 days.
The “doctor” almost shat his pants. He squeezed the thumb a bit too hard rebandaging it and apparently the stream of cussing coming out of my mouth combined with the murder look may have loosened his bowels.
The clinic did go silent for a few seconds.

A question from my childhood answered

I saw this posted at Wirecutter’s.

I grew up with the audiobooks of James Herriot’s All Creatures Great and Small series, narrated by Christopher Timothy, who played James Herriot MRCVS in the BBC series (which I also love).

A few times n the book series, James mentions having to put down an animal with a humane killer.  I never knew that was a specific device until I saw this video.

I found this extremely interesting because it answered a question from my childhood that I never knew I had.

Cultural enrichment incoming

And Feminists will back this to the hilt.

Speaking of great Christmas ads

This is my favorite Christmas ad of all time.

I can’t remember if I posted it before.  I don’t think so because it came out before Miguel invited me to start blogging for him.

It commemorates the centennial of the 1914 Christmas truce.

It’s okay to cry during this one.  You have permission.

One of the best parts of that ad, and what makes it so special is the effort everyone put into the history of making it to show respect.
