California to lead the country again! (And I feel so much better now.)

Two California items. The first, the LA Times;

WASHINGTON —  After four years of being relentlessly targeted by a Republican president who worked overtime to bait, punish and marginalize California and everything it represents, the state is suddenly center stage again in Washington’s policy arena.

California is emerging as the de facto policy think tank of the Biden-Harris administration and of a Congress soon to be under Democratic control.

And then this:

According to the San Francisco Chronicle, there are two million doses of the coronavirus vaccine sitting in cold storage units across the state of California. But the rate of vaccinations has slowed to a crawl and now Governor Gavin Newsom has suddenly changed the eligibility requirements for citizens to get a vaccine. Counties are crying for more vaccine while many frontline health care workers remain unvaccinated.

California’s Vaccine Distribution Is a Massive Clusterfark

But thank God they will not follow Florida’s example!

As the one-year anniversary of the COVID-19 pandemic in the United States approaches, two of the country’s three most populous states — California and Florida — are seeing two very different epidemiological curves. Hard-lockdown California is — perhaps counterintuitively — recording significantly higher new case numbers and hospitalizations compared to the more open, less restricted state of Florida.

Additionally, as of Friday the COVID Tracking Project reported California’s COVID hospitalization rate at about 56 per 100,000, with Florida standing at around 36 per 100,000. Experts have argued that hospitalization numbers invariably precede fatalities, with higher hospitalization rates likely pointing toward an imminent rise in deaths.

During current COVID wave, Florida is outperforming California with fewer restrictions

And let us not forget this:

It was the state’s worst wildfire season on record. By the end of it, the flames had killed 31 people, destroyed or damaged more than 10,000 buildings and burned a staggering 4.1m acres. The North Complex fire was responsible for more than 300,000 acres of scorched land, killing 16 people in its wake.

So, the goal of this administration would be to make sure the proper medications are not distributed to those who need it because irresponsible and irrational rules and see if the country can catch fire on all sides and destroy public and private property.

Don’t you feel better now that Biden is gonna be our new POTUS?

Florida’s favorite Cyber-Social Justice Warrior surrendered to authorities.

The Stalker-turned local celebrity for her meddling with Covid numbers and anti DeSantis positions, got raided for hacking into Florida’s Department of Health system and apparently enough was found that she surrendered to authorities after an arrest warrant was issued.

I had to add that comment. It is simply too stupid not to  include.

And she still has her stalking case to finish, which by this article I think is not going to be declared innocent.

Assessing Neighborhood Safety- Gang Graffiti – Active Response Training

Yesterday, I was running sprints at a local track that was maybe 10 blocks away from my condo.  As I walked to and from the track, I noticed a lot of graffiti.  As noted above, graffiti is generally a sign of disorder and a likely indicator that you may be in an unsafe area.  But context matters as well.  That’s what inspired this article.  Not all the graffiti I saw was a danger sign.  How does one know the difference?

Assessing Neighborhood Safety- Gang Graffiti

As usual, great stull from Greg Ellifritz. Mexico has a great and rich culture of “Murales” AKA Wall art. They do have beautiful works and not necessarily the ones blessed by the government or hired by private companies but the common people and street-level artist will surprise you with the beauty of their work.

Anyway, I am gonna get me a copy of his book Choose Adventure: Safe Travel in Dangerous Places  because one simple reason: He does not mean OUTSIDE the US only. These observation work here too.

You should get your copy too.

CNN can’t compete & needs enemies taken out

Via Legal Insurrection.

That is bad. CNN is indeed bleeding badly and it is a mixture of both politics and not being able to compete with delivery systems and they admit it so after they just recently announced the shutdown of  CNN Airport News.

He (Jeff Zucker) said the decline in airline passenger traffic due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the rise of available streaming news video on mobile phones and other internet-connected devices led to the decision.

They have been shooting themselves in the lower extremities for far too long and it was bound to affect them. Truthfully, I only tune to CNN if there is some sort of breaking news which they may have coverage, but I find myself doing it less and less since I can directly tap a local (or several) TV stations and even check live streaming from people in the location.

As a result, CNN’s role has become just a propaganda tool for a political side which was bound to cause migration to other providers when a big chunk of the audience felt they were not only not respected, but used as target and fodder for CNN’s political support strategy.

And asking to shut down or restrict other media that cares for the desires of people they do not care about is suspicious. It is not like those who no longer watch CNN will suddenly come back and accept their shows, they simply will not provide the revenue they think they seek. And if it is just because they want them out for political purposes, then it is idiotic because the same principle can and probably will be used against them in the future.

FoxNews came out because CNN stopped being a news delivery organization and became a propaganda arm of the Democrats. OAN & NewsMax exploded and are advancing because FoxNews decided to become part of the Cool Kids Club and may become as weak-assed as CNN which for some reason still cannot process the idea that insulting your viewers does not promote ratings, just the opposite.

“Daddy! The ugly kids hurt my feelings (and pocketbook) Please kill them!

If we had one set of standards this would be an invasion

When Trump supporters fought with and pushed through Capitol Police to barge into the Capitol Building, that was an “insurrection.”

This is a migrant caravan from Honduras going through Guatamalen police on their way to the US border, in time to arrive under President Biden.

If and when they do this to the US border and Border Police, if we had one standard, this would be an invasion.

Pushing through the police to enter a country illegally.

But no.  Since these people are not entering the Capitol or the gated communities of our members of Congress, they will be put on a path to citizenship.

Not to mention, when a bunch of Americans get together to protest being locked down, that is a super-spreader event.

When hundred of people without masks walk 1,000 miles through three countries, I doubt that they will be called a super-spreader event.

This isn’t about racism or xenophobia.  The economy is suffering.  People have been out of work for months.  Biden announced that he’s going to raise the minimum wage to $15 per hour.  At the same time, we have migrant caravans that are going to push their way into America.

The undeniable result of this is that huge numbers of Americans will continue to be unemployed, their jobs eliminated or replaced by illegal immigrant labor.

If you told me that Biden and Harris were out to purposely destroy the American economy, I’d believe you.

The Rookie (again) now with super deadly special “boolits”

The only reason we are still watching The Rookie is Nathan Fillion (and Mekia Cox kicks butt in her role, but I am biased to petite kick ass women since I am married to one) , but I believe the writers are doing their best (worst) to kill the show this season with an overdose of BLM and SJW bullcrap.  And if that was not enough, I guess somebody is desperately trying to resurrect the old Teflon-coated cop killer bullets of the 80s. These are from last night’s show:

I just shudder at what a bullet covered in silicone would do to a barrel, just imagining cleaning all that melted gunk makes my stomach turn.  But how in the hell they came up with this nonsense? If I were to hazard a guess, I would say that a writer may have seen an add for Hornady’s LEVERevolution ammunition , added two plus two and got twenty two.

Oh well, the Fountain of Stupid springs eternal in La-La Land.
