First:

What have I been saying about the military becoming a Leftist organization?

The way she says “the military taught me to use my voice” suggests to me she was an NCO, perhaps even a drill instructor.

Why would a member of our military be out there attacking federal property and federal LEOs if they still believed in their oath?

Second:

It’s not her uniform.  It’s not even the uniform of the US military.

I worked for a company that was a supplier to the DOD and DOJ/DHS.  The DOD pays bottom dollar for things like small arms and uniforms.  The DOJ/DHS often comes in and buys the same stuff because they want to pay DOD pricing.  That is the world of government sourcing.

The DOJ/DHS needed field gear and the cheapest/easiest way to do that was to buy battle dress equipment.

The narrative that these officers are paramilitary or engaging in stolen valor because they were issued government sourced gear is evil garbage.

Third:

There is a reason I can’t be federal law enforcement.

I’m not sure I would be able to control my desire to “accidentally” canoe that harpy’s head with a 40mm smoke grenade.

  1. You bring up two points I’ve made before, in other places, and maybe this one too:
    1. The canonization of “veterans” is foolish, because quite a few veterans used the military as a jobs-training program, and they never had any thought of cashing the check they wrote to Uncle Sam.
    2. I prefer blue uniforms on police myself, but blue “police” riot gear is special-order and expensive, and when you’re ordering them by the gross, you go cheap.
And on this “stolen valor” crap: I can go down to Joe’s Surplus and buy that same uniform. It’s not the uniform itself that proclaims military service, it’s the markings on it. These uniforms are clearly marked “Police” and nowhere is there a single thing that says anything different.

  2. Stolen Valor? From the “veteran line” ?

Pot, meet kettle. Like “veteran” frig team six member Nathan Philips?

Like John Kerty’s Silver Star citation, for service in the Vietnam War, signed by Sec Nav John Lehman, 1981-1987?

Do they mean *THAT* kind of stolen valor?

From officers displaying *no* bogus medals?

    AYFKM?

  3. That is one very unhappy person.

The reaction, or lack thereof, reminds me of when someone was shot in CHOP/CHAZ/CRACK/whatever, and the paramedics wouldn’t roll without police. Some CHAZhead was running around yelling at and berating the emergency team for not going anyway. The guy was just ignored; for all the response from the EMTs he might as well not have been there.

  4. A number of vets go into federal law enforcement. I don’t think she knows how lucky she is that those she is berating had the discipline not to respond.

  5. As of last night in Portland they have a new line they have added into the riots. The “Vet” line is all military standing in line with the moms anf Antifa
