If you are a regular visitor of this blog, you know I recommend Andrew Branca’s book plenty plus he drops from time to time to visit to inform and correct when I post some messed up legal interpretation. You can find Andrew in the jungles of Twitter fighting the good fight and he is damn good about it. It is better than Pay per View MMA and sometimes bloodier.
So basically he will hurt the feelings of those who seek being butthurt and for free. Some of those butthurt have taken to give his book One Star reviews in Amazon, but sincerely they are not the smartest bunch in the interwebs. My favorite is this guy Shawn:
I learned more about “self defense law” from reading wikipedia or www.thetruthaboutguns.com. I would AVOID this book. I wish I could sell it to another sucker, but it would cost me too much in postage so instead, I will take it to use as toilet paper in a public bathroom.
I love the scatological reference as it is a clear indication of somebody who still is trying hard to pass his GED, but the ultimate fail is the version of the book he is reviewing, the Kindle version.
The mental picture of Shawn trying to scrape himself clean in some urine-&-feces soaked public restroom using a Kindle device is something for the ages… and I imagine something Amazon never designed its reader to do. I wonder if it is covered by their warranty.
UPDATE: Shawn’s review was removed. I wonder why. But the internet is forever and screen captures are a lovely way to keep track of the stupid.
As I was told, NEVER read the reviews… And Branca’s book IS a keeper!!! 🙂
No – you must read the reviews. But you need to remove all liquids and breakables, and be sure to tell a trusted person where you are going so they can send the search party in the right direction when you have not come up for air by supper time.
stay safe.
Oooh, and he recommends TTAG. The sure sign of a winner.
Don’t worry. He also uses Wikipedia!
Well, as long as he keeps his Kindle around he’ll have something to use when he runs out of seashells.
