Virginia Gun Lobby Day 2020, Logistics & Important Information

This is the way to do it. I wish Florida could get 10% of this organizational power. So far, we can’t get 5 guys living in Tallahassee to show up at the legislature.

  1. And the chest thumpers are making comments on the VCDL page as well.

“You LEO’s will never gain respect by enforcing illegal and un-constitutional “law”. To do so means you’re a sellout. Your paycheck trumps the Second Amendment.”

No, Buster. Not correct. No one actually expects anyone to throw themselves on their sword these days. Sorry, but I will bet every dollar in my 401(k) that when your boss tells you to do something that you do not want to do, you suck it up and do it.

Right now, the Governor issued an order, and no matter how many armchair lawyers claim it is illegal, until it is properly vetted, it remain an Order to the Capital Police. The statute under which the Governor issued that order is vague enough that it could be declared perfectly legal.

So… sorry Mr. BusterChestThumper, your comment does not make the situation better at all in any way.

    1. Merely as a counterpoint to what CBMTTek said, in California, of all places, there have been multiple examples of how the rank and file stepped down, i.e. transferred departments, early retirement, in response to continuous berating from 2A supporters.

Go to CalGuns to monitor the forums to see if you do not notice this yourself. LEOs have actually verbalized – beyond the trite, ‘we’re just the rank and file, it’s the dept admin you should be mad at’ – that they would actively quit their individual participation in what the dept admin says they must do.

I would not declare this as departmental anarchy although it is indications of LEOs putting their money were their mouth is.

  2. Please review the “related article” shown above. This was a photo of a peaceful annual march to the Springfield, IL Capitol building last year. The name of the gathering is Illinois Gun Owners Lobby Day (IGOLD). This year’s assembly, march, and lobbying will be held on Wednesday, April 1. It is primarily sponsored by the Illinois State Rifle Association, but several other organizations will have peaceful representatives in attendance.
After an initial assembly, the march to the Capitol, and a rally in front of the Capitol building, participants are encouraged to walk around through the Capitol buildings and stop in to visit with their Senators and Representatives.
All of the antigun lawmakers post a state policeman at their door, but a page will be present to accept paper ballots from attendees.
I plan on attending again this year.
