This really happened:

Yes, I have no doubt Ted Lieu would love to regulate speech.  He’s a California Democrat, there is very little he wouldn’t love to regulate.

After being called out for this, he sent out a Tweet that only doubled down.

I’m a tyrant but at least I know the Bill of Rights limits me” isn’t the kind of thing most Americans want to hear.

We are a nation founded on the principle “I do not agree with what you have to say, but I’ll defend to the death your right to say it.”

It’s amazing to watch a US Congressman admit that he hates the guiding principles of this nation, and that he only allows free speech because the Constitution protects it.

You know he would undo the First Amendment at every chance he gets.

On the plus side, at least he was honest.

  1. Does this mean I should expect to see a swalwell/lieu 2020 ticket in the future? A cabinet with individuals in place, each tasked to target a single ammendment? It’s a joke but who knows with these nuts.

  2. There are Congressmen that I would love to shoot people in the face that I disagree with politically, but fortunately the law prevents me and Congress from doing so.

This is a fun game to play.

  3. Bill of rights is full of negative libertys as obammy said… remember? Americans are notoriously short memory people…

I can’t find the quote right now, but Obama flat out admitted that the constitution was an impediment to the type of change he wished he could implement. It was near the end of his term.

Also, from actress Gwyneth Paltrow, on Obama: “It would be wonderful if we are able to give this man all the power he needs to accomplish the things he needs to” – 2014
