I guess I did not think about it. I had left some Serrano ham skin in the back porch for a couple of feral cats that roam the backyard, but Bubba Le Pew beat them to the punch.

Skunks will eat whatever’s handy.
Sometimes this is a good thing. Toward the end of summer, I set forth to eradicate a yellowjacket nest in the front yard, only to find that what I presume to have been a skunk had already dug it up and devoured the inhabitants.

Some folk keep them around for their habit of eating rodents. If you don’t pressure them, they aren’t likely to spray you. If you have dogs, it’s quite the chore cleaning them afterward.
