I respect their attitude towards firearms in general, but really dislike their politics. They weren’t nearly as “neutral” during WW2 as they were made out to be.
Yeah, you are correct, RabidAllen. Have you read how they treated Allied airmen in WW II? Also, the head of the Red Cross had factories making munitions for the Nazis.
I heard it differently.
Foreign Minister Ribbentrop was at an embassy party with Swiss dignitaries. After some drinks and blustering, Ribbentrop asked one of the Swiss what they would do if Germany invaded. The diplomat answered that they could muster up 500,000 men to fight.
“And what if WE send a million men?”
“We would shoot twice and go home.”
There is a reason it is the Swiss that guard the Pope, and it is not because they are “neutral.”
