I know I have to go to the eye doctor so that was the first excuse for not believing what I was seeing. Glasses wiped and re-applied to my nose, I could not help myself but laugh:
Here is the full size of the pic:
What is next? Wayne LaPierre voodoo dolls? Michael and Shannon dolls with Gun Free summer-house and pink corvette, followed by SUV full of GI Joe’s Bodyguards?
Make it official & feel sorry for them.
So.. the first thing that went through my mind was “Holy ****, I want a set of those!!”
Second thought I had was “Wonder if these depicted people, including the parents of the children, signed off on their likenesses being used or if they’ll lawyer up and sue… I’m hopping for the latter when they find out.
/Gets Popcorn Ready…
Because you know what they would say if ‘we’ started putting up parody pictures including their children…..
Exactly.
They could be yours for the low, low price of 50 million dollars!
They forgot “bigotist leftist”.
MTG players aren’t going to be happy about this.
On top of which, their satirical Magic cards are worse than parody cards your average 5-year-old makes up. It’s like if they tried to compare us to Trekkies and…
um…
…didn’t change anything else about the satire. Even lightsabers and Stargates are at least putting some effort in.
Allow me to clarify the previous post.
These cards offend me more as a former Magic: The Gathering player than as a current gun owner.
Kind of a 50/50 split for me, but I agree that these are offensive on many levels.
I’d say if these offend you much as a gun owner, you must not be a very proud gun owner.
If you’re going to do a parody, though, at least display some familiarity with what you’re making a parody of.
Do you suppose they finally wore the race card out, then?
@oldradartech,
No, that card comes out in the next expansion. “Mickey the Minority,” devolves any argument into a race-based personal attack; ATTRIBUTE: Racial Background (Minority), ARTIFACT: Shroud of Victimhood. (Flavor text: Hey, man. Check your privilege. 😉 )
I found out that one of my Daughter’s Teachers is married to a Magic the Gathering player. I let her know that if her husband needs a sponsor to help him quit, I’d be there for him.
Also +1 on what stock images were used and modified for this. Who are these people and are they OK with their likeness being used by stalkers.
I don’t find them offensive at all. Funny, and sad, and totally endemic of the CSGV’s long list of inane commentary. It’s always nice to see just how ignorant your opponents are.
