I have been seeing this around allegedly presenting numbers from the CDC.  So, I went to their database and searched all 2022 causes of death from year 1 to year 17.

I am guessing that they are including suicides by firearms in their stats and not just homicides, but still adding both all homicides and suicides as if they were done by firearms, they come up short of car accidents. Health-related deaths still are by far the biggest killer.

  1. remember the “housing crisis “ in 2008ish? experts were saying 10 thousand people a day were being thrown out of thier house by the banks…. and as ol Rush said- where are they??… people with agendas LIE.. lie lie lie lie.. eventually some begin to believe it…. covid- 250thousand dead!!! screamed headlines… nope. not true.. our whole society is based on lies…

  2. When the numbers don’t say what you want them to, just start making sh*t up.
    .
I’m guessing they split the numbers up on a more fine grained basis to get the results at least a little more like they want. For instance, “accidents” on the CDC list could include everything on their list that’s not “firearms.”

  3. And even including ‘all’ causes, the majority (over 50%) is inner city (iow democrat run) black teenagers involved in gang activity.

  4. This is one of those things that hits me hard because anytime people quote numbers/statistics, it reminds me of my Engineering Statistics professor. Day 1 of class, his opening remarks to us included the comment, “If you give me a dataset and tell me what you want it to say, I can make that happen.”
    .
Even 20+ years later and I don’t trust a single “statistic” without seeing the data that people are making their claims from. Usually those preaching from on high do not like those numbers being questioned. Go figure . . .

    1. yup… you gotta be careful with statisticians…. if you believe them without question you’d probably believe that the average human has one testicle…
