It’s an all-too-familiar story: A curious child finds a loaded gun, reaches for it and ends up shooting someone nearby — or themselves.
It happened again on Wednesday, when a 7-year-old boy found a loaded gun in the SUV where his father had left him alone and shot himself in the leg with it, Fort Lauderdale police said. He was the third child to find a loaded gun and fire it, hitting someone, in the past month.

Once again, if we do not take care of this problem on our own, some enterprising Liberal will use it to shove more gun control down our throats.  Besides, we are always taunting how the any Opposition operative uses the title of “Gun Safety advocate” but does nothing for real gun safety, and yet we kinda shrug our shoulders at news like this.

“The father went into the store and left the child inside of the vehicle,” she said. “He was only inside the store for a few minutes [and] when he returned to the vehicle he realized the son had been shot in the leg.”

I check the address given in the article and comes back to a Winn-Dixie supermarket. This is important because it is not a Gun Free Zone and that makes me think dad does not have a Concealed Weapons License, otherwise why leave a loaded gun in the car with a kid inside? And next, of course, I am going to rant about not having a gun box with a lock where the gun could have been placed while he went to get the BBQ kale chips and the box of cabernet for the missus.
