This is a reminder that the Russian tradition is pretty much “fuck civilians” when they are in war since they started to fight way back then. Rape is not a crime but a reward and murder is just a way to avoid having to deal with POWs.
Yesterday, I saw some idiot “expert” military analyst in CNN or Fox saying that the traffic of people exiting Kiev and other cities would actually be beneficial because it would stop Russian tanks.
Yes, that stupid.
“Yes, that stupid.”
Best one so far I’ve heard from the MSM *experts* was the comment about Russia taking over Chernobyl because it provides power to a large portion of Ukraine. SMH & RME
https://youtu.be/QibwX2CbIYk
Only one reactor blew up at Chernobyl, the others kept producing power and do now.
Although they were kept going for a decade plus, apparently the remaining reactors were shut down in 2000.

My thought when I heard the Russians were intent on capturing and taking over the Chernobyl site was that they intend to either retrofit it to get it running again to produce power, or they intend to start it back up with safeties disabled and make it REALLY go boom, sending fallout all over Europe.
Any other possible intentions, I’m all ears.
Could be an Ukrainian vehice. Yesterday already there were videos circulating showing Ukrainian tanks crushing civilian cars that were in their way.
Also it looks like a MT-LB with Strela-launchers, it’s an AA-vehicle that’s, afaik, not in use with the Russians anymore but seems to still be used by the Ukrainians.
Nevertheless the tank was slipping and I highly doubt that this was deliberate.
Not defending the Russian invasion but as it’s said: in any conflict the truth dies first, no need to kill it any more.
Double-checked. Russia is still using them. But so is the Ukraine. Without seeing the markings it’s hard to say.
Here is a longer video of that incident from a different angle.

This happened in the middle of an ambush
Interesting. The added context is valuable.
Interestingly enough: executing the wounded is also a war crime. Nice to see the Ukrainians are doing what they can to not hold the high road.
You want civilians sniping your soldiers?
This is how you get civilians sniping your soldiers.
“Nothing is more painful than this heartbreaking clip of Russian tank, crushing an Ukrainian civilian car.”
I don’t know; I’d say being in the car at the time would be right up there.
Only way cars stop tanks is if they can cause the tank to throw a track.
1) Not a tank. Just an AA version of the MTLB. But an AFV, yes.
2) Martial law was declared at dawn yesterday. That means if yer on the roads, you takes your chances.
3) We did the same thing in Baghdad. The plentiful videos are still around. Anybody who goes toe-to-toe with any AFV gets what they get. There’s a reason AFV crews refer to pedestrian dismounts and civvy vehicles as “crunchies”: because it’s the sound they make when run over. Pull over, and wait for them to go about their business. Or go somewhere else.
4) None of that means this wasn’t the Russians, nor that they would not do that, and deliberately. This video merely assumes facts not yet in evidence.
5) When Javelins and TOW missiles, or their Warsaw Pact equivalents, start to fly, things get a lot less fun for armored troops. Still waiting to see those videos.
The Ukranians look to be at least as capable and motivated as the Afghans, and better armed, who pushed Russia and us out of A-stan, by turns. This is by no means a done deal. The guerrilla war there, even if they lose, is liable to last for decades. Moscow deserves that.
Ukranian Partisans fought against the Nazis, Fought against the Soviets, they even fought against the Poles.

They were desperate enough to fight Hitler AND fight Stalin for years after WW2 ended.
