The House passed the AWB

So the AWB passed the House.

Now it goes to the Senate.  I’m not sure what will happen there.

Does Manchin vote for it knowing how West Virginia is on guns?

I suspect Romney and Collins voting yes.

I’m 51/49 it passing the Senate.

Biden would absolutely sign it.

That leaves two options.

The Supreme Court will have to take on subject of assault weapons.

The good news is that the last SCOTUS decision on guns went out way.

The “in common use” line in Heller goes our way since there have been tens of millions of these guns sold since then.

Alternatively, we demand that every Republican running swear on any possible political future that they vote to repeal this AWB as soon as they can.

If it does pass, it will be a rough couple of years.

What we need to do us make gun bans as toxic today as it was after the Clinton ban.

Pediatric monkeypox diagnoses to be a mandatory report condition

A friend send me this article:

Tucker Carlson pushes to rename monkeypox ‘SCHLONG COVID’ after woke New York City official asked WHO to change ‘racist’ title – as San Francisco declares public health emergency over virus

That’s funny, but buried deep in the article was this horrifying statement:

The jokes came as San Francisco, a city with a high population of gay people, declared a state of emergency due to the outbreak of the disease.

Mayor London Breed’s said her announcement would allow officials to cut through red tape and fight a public health crisis reminiscent of the AIDS epidemic that devastated the city in the 1980s.

The declaration, which takes effect Monday, was welcomed by gay advocates who have grown increasingly frustrated by what they called San Francisco’s lackluster response to a virus that so far has affected primarily men who have sex with men, although anyone can get infected.

Experts fear the disease has already spilled over into more vulnerable groups, such as children under eight years old that health officials say are at high risk of severe disease.

Two children — in California and ‘transiting through’ D.C. — have tested positive for monkeypox to date, the CDC says.

Three important facts:

Over 95% of monkeypox cases are in gay men with multiple sexual partners.

41% of monkeypox cases are in men with HIV.

Sexual transmission is the top vector for infection for monkeypox.

The first two facts should give you an idea of the type of behavior that spreads monkeypox.  Lots of unprotected sex with lots of people in a short period of time.

And somehow, that spilled over into children under 8 years old?

That is rape. That is what that is.  Monkeypox in children is evidence of rape.

A monkeypox diagnosis in a child should immediately be reported to authorities for investigation.

The CDC won’t do that because the federal government protects groomers and pedophiles who are located to the Democrat party.

Maybe, hopefully, Florida will do this.

The best vaccine against monkeypox in children is a woodchipper.

Their “gotcha is good news for us

Congress invited a number of gun company CEOs to be berated in another political circus bereft of facts and heavy on spectacle.

It was six hours long so I will be going through this more later.

However, this headline struck me:

Gunmakers made over $1 billion in assault weapon sales in the past decade, congressional report finds

Knowing nothing else, I’d say that this is prima facie evidence that AR style rifles are “in common usage.”

You don’t make a billion dollars on profit on low margin consumer goods without selling a shit load of them.

Social media vs safety results in a murder suicide

I saw this in my feed:

Absolutely nothing justifies murder, I feel compelled to say that out loud unless I am misconstrued.

In today’s society one of the worst social crimes you can commit if victim blaming.

The problem with that is that it changes how people address situations.

I read this story and I read about a young woman in a bad relationship with a man she described as “toxic.”

She divorced him and moved across the country to get away from him.

And she documented the entire thing, posted it on TikTok, and was murdered.

Maybe, just maybe, airing the dirty laundry of the man you are divorcing and then posting where you moved to after doing so was a bad idea.

And now I am accused of being a victim blamer.

Of course she shouldn’t have been murdered  but of you were a security conscious minded person, you might consider not antagonize an ex by embarrassing him on social media and posting your whereabouts online in video form.

Be conscious of your actions.

High capacity magazines for self defense and shooting pitbulls

Today’s episode of “I’m going to shoot your pitbull” is brought to you by a reader tip and tye biggest magazine for your carry piece that money can buy.

Pack of pit bull dogs captured after mauling 71-year-old Texas man to death

A 71-year-old Texas man was mauled to death by several pit bull dogs on Monday, July 18 in the Fresno area, according to the Fort Bend County Sheriff Eric Fagan. The family identified the victim as Freddy Garcia.

The Houston Chronicle reported that Garcia was walking to a store when he was viciously attacked by seven pit bulls in the 4300 block of Mark Terrance Lane, in unincorporated Fort Bend County. He was flown to a hospital via Life Flight, where he was pronounced dead. It was the area’s second dog attack in days.

According to the sheriff, the man did nothing to provoke the attack.

KPRC in Houston reported that this same package of dogs was responsible for another, albeit non-fatal, attack.

Seven pitbulls.

Seven.

Roaming the streets and alleys in a residential neighborhood.

Animal Control apparently did nothing until a fatal attack occurred.

How do you defend yourself against seven dogs?

Most compact self defense guns hold between five and eight rounds. A few might go as high as ten.

Most compact self defense guns are sold on a idea of self defense against a single bad guy, maybe two.

A pack of dogs is completely different threat.

And yes, if a pack of pitbulls is roaming the neighborhood, and Animal Control doesn’t come and take them away….

This is the sort of problem that suppressors were intended to fix.

Democrats give the wink and nod to antisemitic political violence in NY governor’s election

Late last week, Lee Zeldin, one of two Jewish Republicans in Congress, was attacked during a campaign speech as he is running for governor against Kathy Hochul.

The attack was caught on video.

Most of the media has ignored this.

Those that have acknowledged it have done so to mock Zeldin and Republicans because the attacker used a novelty self defense keychain as his weapon of choice.

This is more of a weapon than any of the January 6th rioters had.

But this is just more of the Left’s dimmer approach to violence.

See, it really isn’t a big deal because it wasn’t a lethal weapons.  Really it’s the Right that’s the bad guy here for freaking out over some low level political violence.   When a person on the Right gets attacked, they should just take their lumps with a keychain and stop being babies about it. (End sarcasm)

Hochul’s anti-Zeldin ad just about begged for this to happen.

And when it was all over, Zeldin’s attacker was released without bail on his own recognizance.

In New York under Cuomo it was all but legal to beat up a Jew.

The Democrats have encouraged people to get pushy with Republicans.

Put those two together and of course trying at assault a Jewish Republican with a weapon isn’t punished in New York.

I could ask “what would happen if a Right winger attacked a Democrat during a speech” but we all know the answer and know that such a scenario wouldn’t happen in the first place.

The Left is testing what they can get away with later this year and in 2024.

I’m convinced this was a dress rehearsal for something worse.

Orthodox Jews are fighting for gun rights in New York

An Orthodox Jewish gun club takes aim at NY Gov. Hochul’s new gun control package

In the heavily Orthodox hamlet of Monsey in upstate New York, a Jewish gun owner is threatening a lawsuit to block Gov. Kathy Hochul’s efforts to limit where guns can be carried.

Tzvi Waldman, who is Orthodox and the founder of the New York State Jewish Gun Club (NYS-JGC) in Rockland County, told the New York Jewish Week that he plans to fight Hochul’s gun legislation, calling it unconstitutional.

“What the governor did in New York State flies in the face against any logic,” Waldman said. “For a shul not to have the ability for people to carry arms is ridiculous.”

On July 1, after the U.S. Supreme Court struck down a New York law tightly limiting who may carry a concealed weapon, Hochul signed legislation that bans people from carrying guns in places of business, including houses of worship, unless they put up a sign explicitly stating that guns are welcome there.

Waldman contends that by making places of business put up signs about guns, it is forcing them to declare their political identity. “People want to protect themselves,” he said. “This is not helping our political divisiveness. It’s just going to accelerate that in this country. It’s only going to cause more problems for businesses.”

Hochul’s bill was absolutely an act of malicious compliance that voided the SCOTUS decision.

I hope the New York State Jewish Gun Club wins for several reasons.

I support gun rights.

Also, Hochul is a Jew hater and Andrew Cuomo, who she succeeded as governor, was also a Jew hater who abused the Orthodox.  If any group in New York to kick the shit out of the governor, it’s the Orthodox community.

Among the majority of Jews who are not Orthodox, support for gun control is widespread. The Reform and Conservative movements, the network of Jewish federations and the non-denominational Jewish Council for Public Affairs have all passed resolutions in favor of tight gun safety laws.

This is a big fucking problem that I will never understand.

Gun control has never, not once, ever helped the Jewish community.  Yet the majority of the Jewish community hangs onto that idea.

This is one of the reasons I have a hard time finding a Synagogue.

I refuse to step into a Synagogue unless I’m packing.

For high holidays, I’m dressed like Noah MacManus in a Yarmakule.

But too many Synagogues have a “no guns allowed” sign on the door.  Might as well post a big fucking sign “these Jews won’t shoot back.”

The last few years have demonstrated just how much the Jewish community needs to protect itself.

Best of luck to the NY Jewish Gun Club.  I hope they kick Hochul’s ass in court.
