Smith & Wesson moving to Tennessee

Smith & Wesson to Relocate Headquarters to Tennessee

Mark Smith, President and Chief Executive Officer, said “This has been an extremely difficult and emotional decision for us, but after an exhaustive and thorough analysis, for the continued health and strength of our iconic company, we feel that we have been left with no other alternative.” He specifically cited legislation recently proposed in Massachusetts that, if enacted, would prohibit the company from manufacturing certain firearms in the state. “These bills would prevent Smith & Wesson from manufacturing firearms that are legal in almost every state in America and that are safely used by tens of millions of law-abiding citizens every day exercising their Constitutional 2nd Amendment rights, protecting themselves and their families, and enjoying the shooting sports. While we are hopeful that this arbitrary and damaging legislation will be defeated in this session, these products made up over 60% of our revenue last year, and the unfortunate likelihood that such restrictions would be raised again led to a review of the best path forward for Smith & Wesson.”

Smith & Wesson will also close facilities in Connecticut and Missouri as part of consolidating in Tennessee. This process will result in the company reducing the number of locations it maintains from four to three and will significantly streamline its manufacturing and distribution operations.

The facility in Springfield, Massachusetts will be reconfigured, but will remain operational; our expectation that we will keep some of our manufacturing operations in Springfield, Massachusetts, including all forging, machining, metal finishing, and assembly of revolvers, and will continue to have over 1,000 employees in the state.

Our expectation that the new facility will be built in Maryville, Tennessee and will consist of our headquarters, plastic injection molding, pistol and long gun assembly, and distribution.

This reminds me of what happened to Remington.

A northern Blue state passes a bunch of anti-gun laws.

They move as much equipment as they can to a new facility in a southern, gun and business friendly state.

Legacy products made on special, hard/impossible to move equipment continues to be made at the old factory.

Other, smaller satellite facilities are consolidated to the new factory.

The difference is S&W is using cash on hand and Remington was funded by a bunch of holding company motherfucking sons-of-bitches who borrowed money and murdered it with a debt inversion.

I wish them the best.

From the annals of horrible biased journalism

This bullshit from UN News and World Report:

Woman Who Survived 1918 Flu, World War Succumbs to COVID
Primetta Giacopini’s life began and ended with pandemics.

What the headline implied:

COVID is worse than the 1918 flu.  So much worse that COVID is killing Spanish Flu survivors.  You need to be terrified of COVID.

What anyone with an iota of critical thinking noticed:

That was 103 years ago, how the fuck old was that woman?

The answer is, she died at 105.

Of course any death is sad, but at 105 she could have died from being put directly underneath an air conditioning vent.

She lived a good long life and that should be respected.

The media is turning that into COVID panic porn.

Texas Democrat magazine is utterly insane

I swear when I first saw this article I thought the LivingBlueTx was a parody site.

Are Your Republican Neighbors Planning On Killing You?

Unfortunately, as much as it sounds like satire, it isn’t

I made a new Tik Tok account intending to get over to the right-wing side of the platform. For one, unlike Facebook or Twitter, since my feed (FYP, for your page) aligns so well with my interests, I never come across Republicans on Tik Tok. And two, I thought I would find idiots sticking spoons to their arms (vaccinations) or some other moronic thing. Instead, what I came across was shocking.

The more I dug and the further I tailored my FYP, the more shocking the content became. Although I don’t think they have given it a name, I’m pretty sure I curated my Tik Tok feed to #DomesticTerroristTok.

It didn’t take long to find hundreds of videos where these Trumpers and so-called patriots were hanging black American flags.

Black American flags are the flags that mean “no quarter shall be given.” They are the opposite of the white flag of surrender.

It means that they will not surrender, will not take prisoners, and are willing to die for their cause. It means they will execute their enemies.

Who are their enemies? Pretty much any non-Conservative. You know, Democrats, Liberals, LGBTQ, BIPOC, and the vaccinated.

Over the last few years, the right has been vocal about calling non-Conservatives the enemy and make it apparent through their actions that they think we are their enemies.

The article goes on from there about how horrible and racist and violent Republicans are.

Now would be a good time to bring up this article from Slate:

The Unbelievable Grimness of HermanCainAward, the Subreddit That Catalogs Anti-Vaxxer COVID Deaths

HermanCainAward, one of the fastest-growing subreddits on Reddit.com, is exactly what it sounds like: an archive of those who have been hospitalized and/or killed by COVID and didn’t believe the disease could harm them.

These people also doxx and harass the families of people who die of COVID.

Then there has been social media post after social media post and OpEd after OpEd, many covered on this blog, of Leftists outright saying Conservatives/Republicans/Trump supporters and the unvaccinated should be denied every form of health care and left to die in the streets.

Not to mention years of internet commando Leftists saying “if you want me to take your guns from your cold dead hands that’s what we’ll do.”

So even if this black flag of no quarter thing is real, is the people like minded to LivingBlueTx who have been fucking around and now they are clutching their pearls and diving on their fainting couches at the thought their neighbors are finally saying “go ahead and find out.”

If you want an insight into the mind of the people ruining Texas, this is it and it’s utterly insane.
