Saying the whole point of the 2A then going against it

Judge Rudolph Contreras decided the DC high-capacity magazine ban was Constitutional.

The interesting thing was what he wrote in his opinion.

 

See, you the citizen don’t need more than 10 rounds for self defense because sometimes in a defensive shoot, the defending citizens used fewer than 10 rounds.  It’s not us to you to decide how many rounds you may need, the judge decided 10 is all you get.

By the logic of this judge, you should only be able to have a 2 to 3 round magazine because that’s the average needed for a defensive shoot.

Since you only really need 2 or 3 rounds, having 15, 17, or 21 rounds is “poorly adapted” from military use.

I don’t even understand what that means.  How are civilian high capacity magazines “poorly adapted” from military mags?

These firearm were designed to hold 15 or 17 rounds and the 10 round mags were poorly adapted from the original magazine.

This is nonsensical and backwards.

I’ll that the comment about the plaintiff’s expert opinion backfiring suggest prejudice against the plaintiff.

But of all the statement in the opinion, this next one is the kicker.

 

You need to be limited to 10 rounds so that you will be outgunned by the military and police.

You’re just a citizen, so the government should be able to possess better small arms than you.

The idea that this allows the police to outgun criminals is stupid considering that the criminals who illegally obtain their guns generally also obtain illegal high capacity magazines.

It’s only the law abiding citizens who are fucked.

The most clear thing about this decision is that the judge hates guns and engaged in the mental gymnastics needed to justify his opinion regardless of the Constitution.

Lethal force in defense of property

I keep saying ot, but it is time that Red states legalize the use of lethal force in the defense of property.

We’ve seen far too many videos like this of shoplifters carrying loads of products out of a store.

 

These people are never arrested or prosecuted.

Crime expands along with our willingness to put up with it.

The tolerance for shoplifting has allowed mass looting to become popular.

 

But I think the worst story I’ve seen on this recently is this one.

Florida retiree says lesbian squatters with ’15’ pit bulls trashed rental property she owns to tune of $38,000 after lying to cops they’d paid deposit and showing fake receipt

A Florida retiree said lesbian squatters, who own up to 15 pit bulls, caused $38,000 worth of damages at her rental property after lying to police saying they paid a deposit and had been scammed by the landlord.

Patti Peeples and her co-owner Dawn Tiura discovered they had two people illegally living in their Jacksonville rental home more than 40 days ago and believe the unidentified squatters had been there since March.

They discovered the female couple – who haven’t been named, and who were evicted on Tuesday – living in their home after Peeples sent a handyman to carry out routine repairs after their previous tenants left.

When she did confront the two women, they presented her a receipt, showing that they had paid their first and last months’ rent and a pet fee for a total of $3,330 after finding the home on Zillow and signing a rental lease.

‘I said: “This is a fraudulent lease, the house is not for rent,’ Peeples told Fox News’ Lawrence Jones Cross Country.

Peeples and Tiura would confront the women several times and on one occasion, one of the women would shove Peeples out of her own home. One also threatened ‘break your phone’ if Peeples didn’t leave, and a clip showed the woman threatening to call the police.

It took more than a month before they could evict the women the from the home, but what they found inside was much worse. The two women had left around $38,000 of damage behind as they ripped down drywall, smashed tiles, and ripped doors off its hinges.

The two homeowners face even more complications as their insurance might not cover the damage if it is ruled that the squatters hadn’t occupied the home. If a property is not occupied for 60 days, owners need to have vacancy insurance and if it is ruled the squatters were not actually occupying the home – despite living there – insurance would not have to cover the extensive damage.

Two squatters were illegally living in a woman’s home, and due to the law, the homeowner couldn’t evict them for a month.

During that time, the squatters did $38K in damages to the house and the insurance won’t cover it.

The law has slid so far in the direction of favoring criminals and thieves that honest citizens can’t function.

We need to legalize lethal force in the defense of property.

Walk out of a store with an armful of merchandise and the store manager can shoot you in the back.

Squat in a house and the homeowner can put two in your head and get enough put of your estate to replace the carpet.

Am I advocating for murdering thieves?

Yes.  We need more than a reaction, we need an over reaction.

Watch as this shit dries up and law enforcement goes back to enforcing the law.

Portland permissive parenting

Miguel already covered this dad, but I’m going to give my two cents.

Portland is the home to permissive Leftism.

The entire city is one big open air drug den, tent city, and RV parking lot of addicts and criminals.

Why?

Because, in the mind of the modern Leftist, it’s evil and tyrannical to tell people not to do drugs and shop lift and live utterly self destructive lives.

God forbid you mandate someone go to rehab, that’s a crime against their liberty.

This documentary on the death of Portland covers this, one man saying that the people of Portland “confused compassion with tolerance.”

 

That theme exists in this documentary about Seattle (which I’ve posted before).

 

Not just has the Left confused compassion for tolerance, they have confused Liberty with Libertine.

Anything drug or sex related goes.

This is how this dad parents.

Full permissive Libertine parenting.

That’s how he has to worry that his 12-year-old will get pregnant or overdose.

But it’s going to be as effective at raising a healthy daughter as it is as creating a functional city.   Not at all.

And he’s doing it for the same reason, and here is where I agree with Miguel, because it’s more virtuous on the Left to be seem being this sort of Liberal and having failed results than it is to tough love and have success.

He’s a good dad to the Left because he’ll let his daughter have sex and do drugs.

The Conservative dads who tell their children not to do drugs and to control their urges are the bad ones.

With this attitude, his daughter will grow up to be a failure, but at least he’ll get credit for being supportive.

Also, I can guarantee he absolutely wouldn’t own a gun to protect his family.  That’s evil.  Stocking Plan B for 12-year-olds is not.
