Semi-retired like Vito Corleone before the heart attack. Consiglieri to J.Kb and AWA. I lived in a Gun Control Paradise: It sucked and got people killed. I do believe that Freedom scares the political elites.

To Florida GOP State & Federal Legislators.

Have the New York Carpetbaggers been singing their siren songs to you? They promise you money or that they will give money to your Democrat opponent if you don’t follow their drum beat? Did they show you their bank statement and the ten figure balance impressed you? You are awed that Hollywood and the Media are at their beck and call? You feel you need their support to remain elected?

This is Jon Ossoff.

Jon was the Media darling in a congressional race in Georgia. Jon wasn’t even from that district, nobody knew him, he is the perfect definition of Carpetbagger Candidate.  Hollywood loved Jon. He was the Left’s new Knight in Shinny Armor made from recycled metals. Money poured in and he spent between $25 and $30 million in his campaign while his opponent only spent $4.5 million. He was a shoo-in.

Jon lost.

There were tears, frustration and pain.

I mean, all that money, all that free media publicity, all the effort badmouthing the opponent and they lost.

So dear Florida Legislators: Remember Jon.

Remember who votes for you and very well may simply not vote for you in the next elections.

Gun Owners do not forget.

Of course, you can always play the Bernie Sanders card, walk away with the campaign contributions and buy yourself a new home on West Palm Beach where you will spend your new free time.

Should the NRA make Philando Castile a martyr for Gun Rights?

Apparently there is an incredible amount of butthurt floating about the NRA not making Philando Castile some sort of fallen hero for Concealed Carry rights.

He was not. He was somebody who alongside a rookie cop, made mistakes that led to an untimely death.  That is all, a tragedy.

And since when we in the Gun Culture run and act under what the Left and the Media says we are supposed to do?  A couple of articles denouncing the NRA for not supporting a black gun owner and a chorus of guinea fowl from our side (allegedly) repeat verse a chorus because …. no fucking idea. This foes farther than the usual “I don’t like the NRA because they don’t give me free kittens and machine guns with my $35 membership.” rant that some gun owners keep pulling. This is dumb tactics by coat-tail riders.

Ladies and Gents: We do not do martyrs, we do Defendants before the Supreme Court. We do not do street protest with our arms up in the air screaming “Hands Up, Don’t Shoot.” We do Lobby Day inside State Legislatures.

And we certainly do not play the Race Game. Not only is unbecoming, it is something the Opposition is really good about it and we do not play to their strengths.

The Gun Control Groups are just waiting for the NRA to say something somewhat favorable towards Philando Castile so they can exploit headlines:

NRA SUPPORTS PACKING HEAT WHILE SMOKING POT.
Wayne LaPierre sees nothing bad in toking and carrying.

What? You think they will not fall to such lows? Are you kidding me? I can’t  imagine what other crap their NY City PR firms have ready, but bet your bippy it will be even lower than that.

Now, nobody can accuse the NRA of being stupid. They never say or take a hard stand without careful planning and consideration. Remember Sandy Hook? They endured a week or more of full blast in the Media and even among guinea fowl gun owners and then they had the press conference where “The only thing that stops a Bad Guy is a  Good Guy with a Gun.” came to be which  included not only civilians, but retired and active PD and Military. The Media and Gun Control lost their minds and made the colossal mistake of not only badmouthing Law Enforcement and Veterans but actually saying they were against security in schools! They lost the American Public right there and Feinstein’s new AWB began to die that day.

So basically: CHILL. If the NRA says something, good. If not, also good.

Stop playing the game set up by the Gun Control Media Machine.

Crime is an equal opportunity employer.

I think it was Clint Smith who said you really do not know what your attacker is gonna look like and whatever mental image we do have is wrong. We are programmed by culture and Society to think that women are always the victim and could never engage in criminal activity. Even today, in the 21st Century and after seeing online videos of women acting as stupid as any men, we have to restrain ourselves from opening a door if a knock comes late at night and we hear a female voice pleading for help.  That is our undoing.

Always, always, always the door remains closed, call 911 and report a woman in distress at your front door. Let the police be the knights in shinning armor, for all we know it might be a dragon outside your door.

The Philando Castile Shooting and Some Advice for My Cop Readers | Active Response Training

My take on the shooting is that both the officer and the motorist made some mistakes.  Having researched the case, I don’t believe that Philando Castile was actually reaching for his concealed carry pistol.  He did, however, tell the officer he was armed and make a hand movement consistent with drawing a concealed firearm.

….The bigger mistake, in my opinion, was made by Officer Yanez.  He appeared to panic when confronted by the fact that the driver he stopped was armed and didn’t seem to be paying proper attention to his verbal commands.

Out of all the verbose crap floating around, Greg’s analysis is a real jewel above anything else.

Cop or Civilian, you need to read this and learn from it.

Texas democrat shoots dog & charged with gun violation.

“Pedro stated that as the dog got closer, he feared the dog was becoming aggressive,” the affidavit stated. “Pedro then fired one shot from his 9 mm handgun that he had concealed in his waistband at the dog, hitting the dog near his head.”Afterward, the dog “limped back” toward the back of the house and survived; Juarez and his family waited for the police, who secured the firearm while conducting the investigation, the report states. In May, Juarez, 35, was charged with unlawfully carrying a weapon, a Class A misdemeanor that carries a sentence of up to a year in jail and a $4,000 fine. He told the Star-Telegram that he has hired an attorney and has no comment at this time.Juarez’s version was documented by police.

Juarez told police he doesn’t have a license to carry a gun and “he believed that since the law for open carry passed, he was no longer required to have a license to carry,” the affidavit stated.

The shooting happened on April 30th. Mr Juarez is married to former Fort Worth school board candidate Pilar Candia and members of the Democratic Party Tarrant County machine. The “former” part is because she lost the election and I am sure that hubby shooting the old pup did not help one bit.

It is the embolden part that I want to attract your attention to: He did not read the law or it is bullshitting everybody or he is plain dumb. Open Carry is not Concealed Carry and it is your responsibility to know the law and not depend on what somebody else told you or what you read on the papers or watched on TV. Then again he might have thought that laws did not apply to him because politics and stuff.

Anyway, once again the lesson is clear: Don’t Guess What The Law Is, Read the Damned Law.

PS: What’s with Democrats shooting anything lately?

The LawDog Files: Darwin is a rotter (Or why gun safety is prime)

Gentle Readers, the Four Rules of Shooting are not just Rules, they are a damned fine idea. Let us ponder, in this case, the wisdom of: “Don’t Point The Barrel At Anything You’re Not Willing To Destroy” and “Keep Your Booger Hook Off Of The Bang Switch”.Yeah. Whoo. I believe that my readers of the male persuasion probably have an inkling of what happened.

You need to go read this. As with LawDog, a beautifully written piece with a great message.

I heard that he was supposed to be writing/collecting blog posts fr a book. I wonder how’s that going. I sure as hell want one.
