I once was also gifted with a glorious head of hair and kept it long. But the baldness gene that runs in the family showed up, and I thought having a hair style that looked like a stapled hula skirt around my head, was not very nice looking. High and tight after that.

We would approach this scenario differently
Los Angeles street gangs are behind brazen robberies in which people are followed home from fancy locations, stripped of a fortune in jewelry or other goods and sometimes shot, police said Tuesday.
At least 17 gangs, most of them based in South Los Angeles, have independently staged robberies, sometimes using spotters to target people wearing high-end watches or driving expensive cars, Capt. Jonathan Tippet, who spearheads an LAPD “follow-home robbery” task force, told the city Police Commission.
As many as five carloads of people have followed home some targets, swarming them to steal watches, handbags or cars before they have much of a chance to resist, Tippet said.
Am I the only one who thinks about renting a super car, wear fake ostentatious jewelry and lead one of these caravans of “yutes” into a nice ballistic behavior modification area filled with friend with the appropriate toys?
I know hunting criminals over bait is illegal.

A store owner has been arrested in the shooting of a 9-year-old girl police said was hit by an errant bullet at a Southern California mall when the merchant allegedly opened fire on a pair of shoplifters he was chasing.
Marqel Cockrell, 20, was being held on $1 million bail after he was arrested in Nevada and booked on suspicion of attempted murder, the Victorville Police Department announced Wednesday.

Investigators believe the shooting occurred near a Barnes & Nobles outlet at the mall. Overnight, investigators worked to identify Cockrell as the suspect in the shooting. Cockrell, who is the co-owner of a sneaker store at the mall called Sole Addicts, attempted to chase down two shoplifters out of his store according to police. In an attempt to stop the shoplifters, Cockrell fired multiple shots, missing the shoplifters and striking the young victim.

Stores are being ransacked thanks to the California Law AKA Prop 47 which made it a misdemeanor shoplifting to steal less than $950 of merchandise. My guess is Mr. Cockrell had enough, drew a red line and now is going to prison and lose his store.
Again, I no longer believe that this is an unintended consequences of a bad law, but a carefully crafted policy to create mass public disorder and be able to go draconian after getting more powers
