NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A 17-year-old fast food employee was critically injured after being shot through a Dickerson Pike drive-thru window early Saturday morning, officials said.

According to Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD), officers were sent to the McDonald’s located in the 3300 block of Dickerson Pike just before 4:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 16 for reports of a shooting involving an employee.

The occupants inside the vehicle were upset about an order and began to argue with the staff, officials said, adding that a drive-thru customer was charged the wrong amount at the first window and complained about it to the 17-year-old employee at the second window.

As the staff was trying to address the issue, the car’s rear window came down and a backseat passenger pulled out a pistol, but the teen employee pulled his own pistol from his waistband and both individuals fired at each other, according to police.

Why do I get the feeling that there is more than french fries involved in this episode? Maybe this was a “special order” that is not usually find in the corporate menu?

The whole thing was brought about a pre-emption bill that forbids local governments from forbidding LEOs to enforce State laws. Memphis enacted an ordinance prohibiting their PD from stopping vehicles for what they call “low-level traffic stops” and there were other more intrusive ordinances put on hold, but still being considered.

I believe that police protection should be a matter decided by the voters in each neighborhood. If certain secion of the city does not want cops patrolling the streets and arresting criminals, they should be free to vote on that.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – One person was critically injured in a shooting on I-24 East in Antioch.

Metro police said the shooting happened just before 10 p.m. Thursday, March 14.

The male victim was traveling eastbound on I-24 between Haywood Lane and Bell Road when shots were fired from another vehicle. The victim was hit by the gunfire and crashed his vehicle while trying to pulled over, according to investigators.

My Florida peeps would be surprised to find themselves in the traffic up here and really not go Full Auto on some of the drivers they may encounter. About half the asshole drivers are people who firmly believe they belong in NASCAR and the other half respond to the flavor of “I have a bigger vehicle…move bitch.”

A Harvard University fellow has been charged with attempting to buy and smuggle millions of dollars in arms to South Sudan to aid in a coup.

Peter Biar Ajak, 40, fled South Sudan with the help of the American government four years ago after claiming that he was a target of the country’s president, the Daily Mail reported. He was granted refugee status, and has been working as a fellow at Harvard Kennedy School’s Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs.

But Ajak, and his confederate Abraham Chol Keech, a naturalized U.S. citizen who lives and works in Utah, are now alleged to have been on a buying spree to send $4 million worth of Stinger missile systems, grenade launchers, sniper rifles, automatic rifles, and ammunition back home to support a violent uprising, according to a federal criminal complaint unsealed March 4.

It is the prices in the list that make me wonder.

AK ammunition at $ 0.17 a round? That is $3.50 per 20 round box. Ammoseek has the cheapest coming at $0.42 per round. Anybody offering that price for 7.62 Russia would sell 10 million rounds in a 24-hour period in the normal market, why risk and illegal sale?

And then we have 2-way radios priced at $500 a pop while AK rifles go for $200? You could not get a post ban WASR with the front sight canted for less than $350 in 2004. In this day and age a used one goes for double that.

And this is all to be bought in the US to be shipped to Sudan.
