When I became a fan of Emerson Lake and Palmer, I got to love their version of Jerusalem and it has been in my tapes/CDs/Stream ever since.

This has also become a favorite version: Last Night of the Proms 2012 just because the people are so deeply into it is a joy to hear the collective soul behind the singing.

Fast forward to 2020 and we are suddenly under the thumb of an overblown crisis imposing truly insane rules which make a mockery of things.

This is just pitiful, no matter how outstanding the singers are. It would have been better served if they put up a sign saying “We will return when our traditional chorus is back.”

Daniel Ortega made a dumb mistake years ago when he was the leader of the Sandinistas and ruler of Nicaragua: He allowed for free elections and got sacked by Violeta Chamorro, the widow of Newspaper Editor Pedro Joaquin Chamorro who was murdered by the Somoza regime toppled by the Sandinistas.

The Sandinistas did a crappy job as government (Surprising no one) and that is why they lost. But they were very good at selling themselves again, promising all kinds of shit to people who actually voted them back in power in 2007 and has been there ever since and plans not to leave anytime soon. Just like his political buddy Hugo Chavez, he uses all the means of government to suppress opposition under a thin veneer of legality. And allow me to repeat myself: He is not going anywhere soon unless cancer also decides to pay him a visit.

Voting stupid carries consequences. Specially when you don’t have the means to remove bad government.

Ruger PC Carbine Review by American Cop

I went to my range with several of each of the following: SR-Series, Security-9, Glock 19 OEM, PMAG 15-round and PMAG 17-round magazines. To further gauge reliability, I took several different brands and types of 9mm Luger ammunition.
I fired the carbine with fully loaded magazines, mixing the different types of rounds between mags to see if any had a preference for a particular type. They didn’t.
Firing from 25 yards, tearing the center out of a B8 repair center was so routine it became monotonous.

The bolden sentence is what called my attention and made me post it here. I called my Ruger PC “boringly accurate” because it constantly rang a 6 inch steel target at 25 yards like I was on top of it with a hammer. I attached a light to it and it has become one of my three official Home Defense Long Guns. I have not even bothered with a red dot because the iron sight is just right and easy to use.

At the end of the day, the ability to accurately place round after round on an intended target is the final benchmark, specially if such target means to do you harm. This little carbine will do so with with nonchalant effort making you look good even when you know better.

Not pictured is what remains of .22lr like I bought the other day and I am amazed there were still some left.  Although I promised the missus over a stack or Chilton books that I would stop buying ammo because “we are moving and we don’t need any more weight, do you understand that or do I have to bang you upside your thick head?” I have been trying to see if I can score some .30-06 because I am pitifully low for it.  So  I ended up thinking “Maybe I need something in 30-30 or that Springfield M1 and WTH is 350 Legend?”

OK, back to the house prep.

Who is the simple idiot in Latin America that does not know interfering with a qualifying match for the 2022 FIFA World Cup was not going to be taken lightly?
