Washington, D.C., Mayor Muriel Bowser (D) relaxed the city’s mask mandate on Friday. Bowser’s updated guidance said that fully vaccinated individuals did not have to wear masks while gathering indoors or outdoors in most situations, though business owners had the option to require proof of vaccination.

Bowser quickly backtracked on the mask guidance, less than 24 hours after relaxing the mandate. Fully vaccinated individuals now must wear masks inside, despite guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) that indicates otherwise. Businesses in the district still have the option to require vaccine passports, to verify proof of vaccination, but individuals will be forced to wear masks indoors regardless of vaccination status.

Speaking at a news conference in St. Petersburg, DeSantis said he was suspending the local orders under his executive power. He said he was also signing an executive order invalidating all remaining local emergency orders that will become effective on July 1.

“I think that’s the evidence-based thing to do,” DeSantis said. “I think folks that are saying that they need to be policing people at this point, if you’re saying that, you really are saying you don’t believe in the vaccines, you don’t believe in the data, you don’t believe in the science. I have two cloud “back ups” which really are nothing more than non-sensitive file repositories I can access anywhere.  It is basically stuff I don’t care anybody sees and a lot of it has already been published by me or somebody else.

The serious stuff and overall computer back up? A 1 TB portable wired hard drive similar to this baby.

That thing is actually smaller than a slice of bread and not only I used it to store the stuff I want to keep confidential, but as “start up disk” for my computer. And if that was not enough, we have several thumb drives used for specific items that later can be transferred to the portable HD.

There is plenty of cheap storage that does not require sharing it with some unknown entity that can be accessed by parties without your permission.
