Makes sense if they have a place to live outside the capital. But I wonder how many actually made it out of town and how many were forced to go back because they got caught outside after the curfew.

And that would be almost 500 miles worth of traffic jams. Imagine how sick and tired people are at all these government impositions that they rather face the traffic jam from hell rather than stay in the City of Lights.

  1. And this is how a virus present in one population is scattered all over an entire region. Don’t tell me that none of those people fleeing are not already infected. It would be safer to just not have the lockdowns and try to convince people to stay in the city instead. Or just go all the way and surround the place with barbed wire and roadblocks with Shoot To Kill orders, AND a lockdown. That works too…
And what the hell do they do if 9PM comes on the day the lockdown starts and they still have 800,000 people stuck in traffic jams trying to flee the city? Call in all the off duty officers and have them walk from car to car, citing people all up and down the line? Set up roadblocks and issue each car with a citation as they pass, leaving the city? Hard to see how that would work, even if it didn’t spark off a really nasty riot.
