  1. Gun buy backs are simply destruction of wealth. Guns get destroyed, money gets handed over for guns, police officers get paid to man the tables…police officers are not on the streets arresting criminals.

    All for a bit of theatrics that dos nothing to reduce crime.

  2. I have said in the past that they cannot be buy-backs because the people purchasing the mostly barely operable cheap and disused firearms that wind up at these things never sold them in the first place. Therefore since they didn’t sell them they cannot buy them back.

    I prefer the term compensated confiscations.
