Another Tool!

At this point, I have more tools than I have toolholders. This can be frustrating as I like to have “standard” tools ready to go.

Just as an example:

  • Four different shapes of right hand turning tools
  • Chamfering tool
  • Parting tool
  • Shearing tool
  • Facing tool (left hand)
  • Grooving tool
  • Right hand threading tool
  • 3/8″ Boring bar
  • 1/2″ Boring Bar
  • 3/4″ Boring Bar
  • 5/8″ Grooving bar
  • Right Hand threading bar
  • Left Hand threading bar

These are tools that live in toolholders ready to be used.  I would have more in toolholders if I had more toolholders.

Aloris BXA#1 can be had for the low, low price of $83.  The #2, which has a grove for boring bars, is only $82+shipping.

Then there is the shop made version:

BXA for 1/2″ square shank tools

I have two more that are ready to finish to this stage.  Once those two are completed, all three are going into the mill for some aggressive chamfering.

When that is completed, they three of them will be hot blued, oiled, hardware installed, and then they will be ready to go into production.

I have the raw materials for another 6 toolholders.  I have some smaller tools, 1/4″ I think.  I plan to make a couple of 1/4″ toolholders.  Three more will be 5/8 and one will be 3/4.

The nice thing, is that having done this once, the next time becomes much easier.

“Video of Florida police officers punching teen sparks outrage” (But only if you shade the facts)

“ZOMG! The poor young baby being abused!”

I love the way they blur the teen to “protect” him from… something or other. You can almost only see the cops raining punches and taser on him and he not relenting which should be the first hint something is not quite right with the slant of the story. Then I saw something it caught my attention: the size of the teen’s thigh. Holy crap, that does not go with a small gangly teen.
So, I looked for the unedited video and it was provided.

That is one big asshole. He is taller than the cops and easily outweighs each cop individually. He chose to resist, he lost.

I hope it is a lesson he learns.  But I doubt he will.

Don’t be this asshole – updated

That is a B&T APC9K PRO semi-automatic pistol with a brace.

It’s a 9mm with a 4.3 inch barrel.

That is not enough for large, tough, thick-skin game like boar, or even feral pigs.

Shooting animals, even nuisance ones, with the wrong gun is cruel and stupid.

But trust an internet celebrity idiot with more money than brains or decency to do shit like that online for monetized clout.

This asshole needs to lose his guns until he can be responsible with them.

Don’t be like him.

Update:

I found video of his hunt.

That’s not a hunt, that’s a drive-by killing.

It shouldn’t take that many rounds to drop an animal.

It shouldn’t have to be speared to put it out of its misery.

You shouldn’t hunt from a moving platforms (unless you are an absolute professional).

No ear protection, no eye protection, just cruelty.

Fuch this guy to the end of the earth and back again.

Nobody is coming to help you

Chicago mom left waiting hours for help after 911 call for home invasion: ‘We have no units to send you’

A Chicago mom who called 911 during a terrifying break-in was left on her own for hours — with dispatchers telling her to call her local representative to demand more police funding.

Michelle called the emergency hotline six times after coming face-to-face with two masked bandits, only for the strained supervisor to tell her the city’s severe budget cuts had left them with a bare-bones staff.

“A gentleman got on and said sorry to say we have no units to send you … then there was an awkward pause,” Michelle told NBC Chicago Wednesday…

“He also recommended I call my alderman and I said why, and he said encourage him to hire more police. The dispatcher also asked me if I would consider defending myself … if I had a weapon or considered getting one.”

Note the bolded statement.

This is the reality of living in a major metropolitan area, especially one run by Democrats.

Crime is up and police are down.

You are on your own, possibly for hours.

You need to be aware of that and prepared to do what is necessary to save yourself.

A gun, a flashlight, and a fire extinguisher are your best friends in an emergency.

Semper Paratus, always be prepared.

Carry Everywhere indeed.

A post from Divemedic about a carjacking at somebody’s driveway.

I won’t say I carry inside the house, but I went years ago with the schoolings of Cat Shannon* and there are guns about 3 feet from me anywhere inside the domicile, including long guns.

But if I go outside, I am carrying even if it is to mow the lawn.

I am usually dressed light while mowing and the little Remington 380 loaded with Critical Duty does not make much of a bounce while riding in the zero turn. And it is pretty accurate and reliable, so I do not feel too under gunned.

(*) Cat Shannon is the main character of the book and the movie The Dogs of War. In the flick, he has a gun pretty much hidden everywhere in his apartment including the fridge.  Unfortunately the Missus will not allow a firearm inside the Frigidaire.
