Waking up is hard. Not waking up is stupid.
Protester Fausto Cardenas, a University of Central Florida student, said Pulse had been a “safe space” for him and other members of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community.
“To not feel safe in a space like that was a very impactful thing for us,” said Fausto, who wasn’t arrested Monday. “We want to hold people accountable.”

Mr. Cardenas was part of a “Sit-In” at Senator Marco Rubio’s office in protest for “Florida Republican’s opposition to same-sex marriage and the support he has gotten from the National Rifle Association” and demanding “all politicians to reject contributions from the NRA and want tighter restrictions on assault weapons, as well as universal background checks for anyone seeking to purchase a gun.”
These are not the thoughts of an adult. This is a man-child, stomping his feet in the middle of K-Mart because mommy did not buy him the toy he thinks he is entitled to just because he exhales carbon dioxide in a regular manner.
There is No Such Thing As A Safe Space.
And you will get none by restricting Civil Liberties or the Right to Self Defense. You have the right to be a victim all you want, but you do not have the right to mandate victimization on the rest of us. Omar Mateen was thoroughly checked by the FBI and still went on to murder 49 of your brethen, yet you still want UBCs? How narrow-minded, herd-minded can you be to bypass that huge detail? I have not see such beautifully choreographed lock-stepping since watching Leni Riefenstahl’s Triumph of the Will.
When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child; but when I became a man, I put away childish things.
1 Corinthians 13:11
Fausto, time for you to grow up…or at least a pair. Shed the chains, become an individual responsible for your own safety. Nobody owes you a damn thing.
