TALLAHASSEE — State lawmakers have a plan to keep kids safe at school: Allow teachers to pack heat.

The controversial proposal won the support of a Senate panel on Monday despite strong opposition from parent groups, school boards and the statewide teachers union.

I have to sadly admit I did not know this bill was being proposed. I missed it and mea culpa.

SB 968, HB 753  is pretty much what we have seen other states pass already: School District may allow a person or persons to carry on school property.  Only an active or former member of the military or police can carry and a civilian that has a valid Florida Concealed Weapons Permit. All must go through training (including Active Shooter training)and the weapon must be carried concealed at all times while on school property.

About the only thing I don’t like is that the training must be offered by a Law Enforcement entity.  Some big departments may have it ( the willingness to offer the  active shooter class is another thing. The Chief LEO might tell people to go pound granular rock) but the smaller locales may not have it or even have gone through an active shooter class.

Anyway, good bill and I’ll take it. It passed the Criminal Justice Committee by a vote of 5 to 2.

The People’s Temple (Jones’ church) had all the right connections that provided him with the cachet and respectability to garner more followers.

Reverend Jones was an avowed leftist to full throttle communist. But he also loved the monies and the women.

You don’t have to stretch you imagination to realize that Jim Jones is more philosophically related to Ladd Everitt or Josh Sugarmann than Wayne LaPierre.  And physically Reverend Jones appears to have re-incarnated in the identity of our old friendJames Kilgore A.K.A Baldr Odinson of Ceasefire Oregon, A.K.A. Joan Peterson with a “Y” chromosome.

By next week, Wayne LaPierre will be accused of running a Sex Slavery cartel and be the brain in Putin’s administration.

And that he also kills puppies.

Dear Lady, I am sure nobody feels the pain you have for the loss of your son, but that does not give you the right to wave the bloody shirt and try to bullshit your way into some sort of revenge for things millions of gun owners had nothing to do with.

This one had to be a doozy so I checked it out:. It seems that some people get angry at the sight of guns. Mind you, not the ones carrying the gun or owning them but unarmed people.

The weapons effect occurs outside of the lab too. In one field experiment,[2] a confederate driving a pickup truck purposely remained stalled at a traffic light for 12 seconds to see whether the motorists trapped behind him would honk their horns (the measure of aggression). The truck contained either a .303-calibre military rifle in a gun rack mounted to the rear window, or no rifle. The results showed that motorists were more likely to honk their horns if the confederate was driving a truck with a gun visible in the rear window than if the confederate was driving the same truck but with no gun. What is amazing about this study is that you would have to be pretty stupid to honk your horn at a driver with a military rifle in his truck—if you were thinking, that is! But people were not thinking—they just naturally honked their horns after seeing the gun. The mere presence of a weapon automatically triggered aggression. …
…Weapons can even make people aggressive when they cannot “see” them because they are presented subliminally. In a study conducted in our lab[4], for example, participants who were exposed to weapon words (e.g., gun) for only 17/100 second were more aggressive afterwards than were participants exposed to nonaggressive words (e.g., water).The “weapons effect”

I know that most normal people including gun owners do not become virulent idiots ate the sight or just mention of guns. Normal non-gunnies will respect them and we will see them as our tools for self-defense,, fun, hunting, etc but never a threat.
But there is one group of individual that totally lose their blessed minds when a gun even if the abstract concept of guns is present within a 5 mile radius. They start shaking, blood pressure rises, vein in the neck & forehead pop, speech becomes foul & belligerent to the point of issuing threats of bodily harm (foaming at the mouth sometimes is present.) You know them, I know them.

Ladies and gentlemen, we finally have concrete scientific evidence that Gun Control advocates are Mentally Unstable.  A great milestone has been reached.

Now about that NICS and No-Fly lists that were mentioned in regard keeping dangerous people away from guns and planes and good law-abiding citizens….

A bit of background. The photo appeared in some news feed and stated that the lady is a Mexican grandmother, one of many tired with the war among Mexican Drug Cartels and I guess ready to use her divine right to kick their asses if needed.
