Most grotesque anti-gun grandstand yet in Texas

Mile-long bus museum honoring children killed by gun violence heads to Ted Cruz’s Texas home

A mile-long procession of school buses are headed to Sen. Ted Cruz’s home in Houston on Thursday, July 14.

Thursday’s roll-out is the official start of The Yellow Bus Project and Cruz’s house is the first stop for the NRA Children’s Museum, which is coordinated by Change the Ref, according to a Facebook post. Change the Ref is a non-profit aimed at spotlighting mass shooting awareness and reducing the NRA’s public influence, started by artist Manuel Oliver and his wife Patricia. The Oliver’s son Joaquin died in the 2018 mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida.

“To commemorate this horrific historic moment, we are showing American voters the toll these politicians have taken on our children’s lives with this all-too-real archive,” Manuel said in a press release. “And this is only the beginning. We will not stop with Sen. Ted Cruz. To every politician who has stood by, taken NRA money, and refused to listen to the people they represent: the museum is on the way to honor you next.”

The 52 yellow school buses will be empty and the 4,368 empty seats are meant to honor the number of children killed by gun violence in the last two years. The bus at the front of the procession will include a display from the NRA Children’s Museum, filled with photos, videos, audio recordings, and personal memories of the children who have died from gun violence since 2020.

These people have put together a caravan of 52 school buses and called it the “NRA Children’s Museum.”

Change the Ref said that Cruz will also receive “a gift” when the procession arrives: a letter written in 2013 by Joaquin when he was 12 years old.

“Dear U.S. gun owner, I am writing this letter to talk to you about how were [sic] going to solve this gun law movement. Most of you have a problem with the idea of a universal back round [sic] check. Why are you mad that there’s a back round [sic] check it’s for your own good maybe you are fond of having crazy people with death machines. You shouldn’t have anything against back round checks [sic] if you’re innocent. Thank you, Joaquin Coral Springs.”

This part floors me.

Joaquin Oliver wrote a letter criticizing gun owners as “fond of having crazy people with death machines” five years prior his death at Parkland.

The whole family has been preparing for gun control activism since he was a child.

It’s hard for me to criticize a father who lost a son, but I get the suspicious that he gained a martyr for the cause that’s infinitely more valuable to him.

I went to the website for the NRA’S Children’s Museum.  Here is what they have to say:

Since 2020, firearms have overtaken car accidents to become the leading cause of death in children, taking over 4368 lives.
With the advent of this horrific moment, we’ve built a mobile museum made of 52 empty school buses representing 4368 victims. Some of the buses feature an exhibit of artifacts, photos, videos, audio recordings, and personal memories of these children who have lost their lives to guns.

The Yellow Bus Project invites kids across America to demand stricter gun laws.
The powerful visual of a school bus will become a vehicle for change everywhere in the country.

Change The Ref gives the kids of today the tools they need to be empowered to make changes to critical issues that affect our nation through education, conversation, and activism. It uses creativity to bring focus to the NRA’s corrupt maneuvers to buy lawmakers, while inspiring solutions which are essential to healing mass shooting victims’ families’ lifelong grief. Change The Ref’s ultimate goal is to give the young generation a disrupting voice to help lead the way to change — a more peaceful future.

The Parkland and Uvalde shootings were watershed moments in the gun control debate.

There is no middle ground between the sides.

There is no point of compromise.

In both Parkland and Uvalde we saw how law enforcement, who swore an oath to protect children at school, utterly refused to do their jobs, costing lives.  They had all the gear, all the training, all the funding, all the morale patches and windows decals, and everything else, and when the shit hit the fan their balls shrunk up into their throats and they set up a perimeter like chicken shit cowards.

Both shooters were previously known to the police and FBI, and had a history of violent mental problems, and at no point did any of that make them prohibited persons.

We’ve seen how these shooters, and countless other kids from across the country, go to deferred punishment or other programs that don’t fix these kids and cause their behavior to get worse.

We saw the exact same think in Highland Park with the 4th of July parade shooting.

There are now two sides.

One side looks at the entire system and says:

There are millions of law abiding gun owners. There is this handful of problem people who repeatedly act like a problem with escalating bad behavior. Our system utterly fails to nip these problem people in the bud and then absolutely fails to respond necessarily when they do the ultimate evil.  How does restrictions on the law abiding do anything when the system is complete incapable of dealing with the handful that cause all the problems.

The other side says:

It’s the fault of the NRA and gun lovers who would allow gun bans and universal background checks.

These positions are incompatible.

All the want to do is shame and harass gun owners because they don’t like them.

Not one gun law is going to get cops to respond who don’t want to.

Not one gun law will stop a problem person from getting a gun is the system keeps kicking the problem people down the road.

Fifty-two a school busses and not one letter from a kid that says:

“When one of my classmates writes fiction about shooting up a school then gets in trouble  rather than send him to deferment, you throw his ass behind bars forever or until he’s no longer fucked in the head.”

Experience is not required for ideologues

Biden’s top 68 appointees have just 2.4 years of business experience, analysis finds – including 62 percent of officials who have ‘virtually NO private sector experience’ on their work records

A new report from the Committee to Unleash Prosperity claims that most of President Biden’s top officials have no business experience at all.

Economists Stephen Moore and Jon Decker analyzed the work records and resumes of 68 officials, including Biden himself and his Cabinet members, advisers and regulatory officials.

The report found that 62 percent of Biden appointees who deal directly with business matters – economic policy, regulation, commerce, energy and finance, have ‘virtually no business experience.’ Only one in 8 were found to have ‘extensive’ business experience and their average business experience was 2.4 years.

‘These highest level people who are in charge of kind of keeping our economy on track of haven’t got the experience to deal with, you know, the logistics of managing $22 trillion economy,’ Moore told DailyMail.com in an interview.

‘You have basically lawyers and university professors and community activists that don’t have any experience with managing a big operation or steering the economy in the right direction.’

I’m not shocked by this at all.

Biden and his handlers want loyal ideologues in decision making positions.

Experience is not required and is probably an undesirable quality.

They want people unfettered by reality to push through their ideology.

Peak “okay boomer” moment

This fucking boomer.

Millennials are to blame for sky-high inflation, strategist says

Soaring inflation is putting markets on edge and triggering fears of a recession. The latest consumer price index data this week revealed a searing 9.1% increase year over year in June, prompting Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen to say that inflation in the U.S. is “unacceptably high.”

But one investor is arguing that there’s another major factor to blame: millennials.

“See, what everyone is not including in the conversation is what really causes inflation, which is too many people with too much money chasing too few goods,” Bill Smead, chief investment officer at Smead Capital Management, told CNBC’s “Squawk Box Europe” on Thursday.

Smead explained that in the U.S. there are an estimated 92 million millennials, primarily in the 27- to 42-year-old age bracket. “The last time we saw what we call ‘wolverine inflation’ — which is inflation that is hard for policymakers to stop — was when 75 million baby boomers had replaced 44 million silent generation people in the 1970s.”

“So we have in the United States a whole lot of people, (aged) 27 to 42, who postponed homebuying, car buying, for about seven years later than most generations,” he said.

“But in the past two years they’ve all entered the party together, and this is just the beginning of a 10-to-12-year time period where there’s about 50% more people that are wanting these things than there were in the prior group.”

Here is the video.

Yeah, I’m a millennial.

I graduated just in time for the 2008 financial crisis.

I finished grad school in time for the 2012 housing crisis.

I was the first generation to graduate with crushing college debt.

Debt, by the way we were told to take on.  We were told that if we didn’t go to college we’d have no future.  So it’s no exactly like it was an option for us.  The option was college and debt or flipping burgers at minimum wage forever.

So it sucks that we had to wait until our 30s to buy houses and cars that boomers and the silent generation could buy in their 20s.

So glad now that the generation that the boomers kicked the shit out of economically and pulled up the ladder behind them is causing inflation because we’re finally able to buy adult shit.  Not that the fucking boomer bankers and senators and their silent generation president pumped trillions of empty money into the economy.

Nope, blame the millennials.

I’m surprised this fucker didn’t blame inflation on avocado toast.

I know not all boomers are to blame but this shit stain is an investment broker so he’s been part of the problem.

I swear one of my campaign platforms will be to commit war crimes against boomer bankers.  I’ll get 100% of the millennial vote.

Mass Shootings Are Because of… Men?

But curiously enough, no one ever seems to consider, much less interrogate, the neon thread woven through it all. Meaning that pronoun, “he.” Always, “he.” We take it for granted. It hardly even registers. But maybe it should. In a government- funded study of 172 mass shootings since 1966 — defined as a shooting in a public place where four or more people were killed — The Violence Project, a nonpartisan and nonprofit anti-violence think tank, found that just four of the shooters were female. That’s a little more than 2%.
— Trib Live Leonard Pitts Jr.: What is wrong with American men?

According to Leonard Pitts the reason there is so much violence in America and so many mass shootings is because of men. He obsesses with the issue of gun violence being a man issue. And more than that, American Men. “Other countries have men — and for that matter, private gun ownership. Yet they don’t have the random gun violence this country does.”

At issue is the cherry picking of data, of manipulating the data, of ignoring data. We see this in his use of the term “gun violence”. This term is used by gun rights infringers to conflate actual violence committed with firearms with suicides and justifiable homicide.

These United States have an intentional murder rate of 6.2/100,000 This is 59th in the world. This isn’t great but it does include all of the Democratic controlled murder nexuses in cities.

But for Leonard it is American Men? Why?

The first thing we see is the changing culture. While he talks of “Men” he doesn’t talk of the environment these men come from. They come from single parent homes.

When we look at the violence in the cities we find a culture of fatherless children. The term use to be “latch key children.” The children that came home from school and had their own key to the house as there was nobody else home.

It takes good role models to create good people. Watch the following video and decide what sort of role models these young children have:

Men aren’t the problem nor are women. The problem is a culture. A culture of victimhood. A culture of irresponsibility. A culture of refusing refusing to work for rewards but instead expect them to be given.

A culture where participation awards are the standard. Where “keeping score” is forbidden.

If Leonard Pitts wants to find a cause for the evil that grows in our society he might find it looking out from his mirror.

Aleatory Ruminations for 7/15/22.

Why did the Pro-Abortion side “lost” Roe v Wade? Because they sat and took a long nap in their laurels believing themselves secure. So rather than make sure the states reinforced protections, they figured nothing or nobody would overturn the decision. And then, they let the crazies take over representation of the cause making sure even the most libertarian and free-thinking would recoil at the thought of supporting them.

This is a very important lesson the Gun Culture must understand even after Miller, McDonald and Brue: It is a war of attrition, and the other side will never stop so neither can we.

The sad part? People actually believe they are “Free” in California and want everybody else to follow suit. Just like lobsters stopping other lobsters from escaping the tub.

It has a long tiring week. Both jobs have demanded on their own ways, and I am bone tired. I will dedicate myself to clean the inside of my mobile unit today and change the year-old wipers. Maybe a small Honey-Do items and other than coking some curry pork, I will just lay my formerly fat ass and watch TV all day with book interruptions along the way. Tomorrow I will take the missus for a day out and some “us” time. Then probably get to do some shooting come Sunday while visiting friends.

And it has been officially a year since we moved “back” to Tennessee. I still cannot figure out the Rutherford County politics, but I get Nashville’s: “We want to be Los Angeles of The Bible Belt.” which might be the reason why I have been three times to the city, and none were pleasure related.

One of the huge drawbacks of living in the sphere of influence of Music City is that every asshole with an instrument believes him/herself to be a great musician and love to painfully prove themselves wrong every time they play it. Amazing how I suddenly find myself remembering a previous appointment when some sax player decides to murder Baker Street with extreme prejudice.

I am surprised that there is not a Mexican consulate in the Volunteer State. There are almost as many Ranchera & Mariachi music radio stations as there are Country stations. Rock comes a long and distant third and I believe there is only one Jazz station in the Middle TN area. The shitty looking stands and back of the car taco sale locations are alive and well. LawDog and Jim Curtiss would feel right at home.

I need to save for a silencer. Effing pew-pew mufflers are expensive as heck.

OK, that is all. See you next week.

National Reciprocity

Senator Steve Daines(R-MT) has introduced S.4501 which is a national reciprocity bill. It is highly unlikely that it will go anywhere but with the midterms coming up and lots and lots of people upset with the gun bans, this might get some legs.

S.4501 – A bill to amend title 18, United States Code, to provide a means by which nonresidents of a state whose residents may carry concealed firearms may also do so in the State

If the text is not yet available at congress.gov, here it is on the Senator’s page:

Leftist terrorists cranking up the violence knob attacking chruches

This one really pissed me off:

Roe v. Wade overturned: Churches in several US states vandalized in wake of abortion ruling

The U.S. Supreme Court’s overturning of Roe v. Wade, the 1973 landmark ruling that legalized abortion nationwide, sent shock waves across the country. Abortion foes cheered the ruling, while abortion-rights supporters expressed dismay and pledged to fight to restore such rights.

Ultimately, some churches became the targets of that anger — with vandalism, graffiti, and even arson reported.

In Washington state, a Catholic Church was vandalized on June 24 just hours after the Supreme Court’s ruling was published.

Authorities in Renton, Washington, a suburb of Seattle, said the suspect spray-painted messages that included, “Abortions save lives” and “F!!! you” across the building. Nearly all the outside locks were jammed with a hardening substance, and four stained-glass windows were found shattered, according to police. The suspect also broke into the church, stealing money from four donation boxes.

Days later in the nearby city of Bellevue, police arrested a suspect on June 28 for allegedly spray-painting another Catholic church, smashing two doors, and assaulting an employee. The incident, which occurred in broad daylight at St. Louise Catholic Church, was being investigated as a hate crime.

In Portland, protests following the Supreme Court’s abortion ruling erupted in the days following.

A sign at the All Saints Parish in the city’s Laurelhurst neighborhood was spray-painted with a red message that stated: “If abortions aren’t safe, neither are you,” according to the local Christian newspaper Catholic Sentinel.

Similar attacks including vandalism, graffiti, iconoclasm, and arson occurred in Louisiana, Texas, New York, and Florida.

These radical Leftists, like Leftists before in Europe, Asia, and Canada are destroying religions institutions and churches.

This is unmitigated evil.

Remember that in Canada almost 70 churches were burned last year after an erroneous story was published about unmarked graves at a Indian residential school.

The media has not covered either story much.

The Church has values of life that go against the Left’s religion of Progressiveness and so Leftists destroy churches.

But remember, it’s white supremacists marching with Betsy Ross flags that are big threat in America right now. That’s what the DOJ says.

We are living in a Soviet-like banana republic where Leftist terrorists can get away with anything.
