Cain Velasquez, former UFC heavyweight champion, charged with attempted murder

Former UFC heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez was formally charged Wednesday with attempted premeditated murder and multiple gun assault charges in relation to a shooting Monday night in San Jose, California, according to a Santa Clara County District Attorney’s Office news release.

Velasquez, 39, is accused of targeting Harry Eugene Goularte, who is charged with allegedly molesting one of Velasquez’s young relatives. Velasquez faces 10 counts that could carry more than 20 years of jail time if he is convicted, per a court document.

According to court documents, Goularte, who was not injured in the incident, is accused of a lewd or lascivious act upon a child under age 14.

Goularte, 43, was released from custody Feb. 25 without bail against the DA’s orders, according to the statement from the DA’s office. He was ordered to stay in home detention, remain 100 yards away from any child under 14 and wear an electronic monitoring bracelet, which he was allegedly on his way to obtaining when Velasquez gave chase.

The child, who is under 10, told an officer from the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office on Feb. 24 that Goularte took him into the bathroom of a daycare center and touched the child’s genitals, per a court document obtained by ESPN. The child said Goularte said not to tell anyone what happened and that this had occurred “100 times.” In the court document, the child said he witnessed other kids go into the bathroom with Goularte as well.

The only problem I have here us that Velasquez hit an innocent bystander and not the pedo.

I say stick Velazquez and Goularte in a ring together.

I’d like nothing more than to see a UFC fighter rear naked choke a pedophile until his windpipe is crushed and his eyes pop out.

Also, who is the judge that let out a pedo without bail?

I think he deserves to have his hard drive checked and to be Velazquez’s round two.

A brief summary: 3 nights ago, MiL complained of chest pain radiating to the right arm. Although the common symptoms for a heart attack are supposed to have the pain radiating to the left arm, I have read about that “anomaly” so we decided not to take chances and take her straight to the ER since she was alert and mobile.

BINGO.

She had a euphemistically called “cardiac event.”  EKG showed OK but some enzymes that indicated heart attack were off the chart. They found enough blockage in three valves that they pretty much nailed her ass to a bed, started a course of meds and then talked about going open heart surgery. On this last bit I went: Are they fucking nuts? she is 83 years old!  She won’t make it through surgery. Some other invasive surgery was also brought to the table, but finally the head cardiac doc said she will get stents because the surgeries are too risky. If anything, this is just another of the many examples that reinforce my distrust in the infallibility of the medical profession. Hell, I’ll be surprised if they get 50% right.

I recking they will do the arterial rooto-rooter today or maybe tomorrow. The missus is glued to her side and knowing her, she is not having a swell time. She got some training dealing with my mom, so at least she knows how things can go (good or bad) but I hate the fact I can’t be there with her because of my job.

My job, you ask. I will keep my long-standing policy of not sharing anything about the job I am doing, especially since I am bound by Federal law. I can share that is VERY satisfying and I can in a roundabout way serve my country. And that is all you get to know, or I will share in these pages or any social media.

I figure things will get back to a semblance of “New Normal” (I could not help myself) next week.

A court in New York handed a prominent Second Amendment advocacy organization a victory Wednesday in an ongoing legal battle over its existence, among other allegations.

New York Supreme Court Judge Joel Cohen ruled that Attorney General Letitia James could not seek to dissolve the National Rifle Association in a ruling issued Wednesday.

“The NRA is a prominent advocacy organization that represents the interests of millions of members who have stuck with it despite the well-publicized allegations in this and other cases,” Cohen wrote in his ruling. “The State-sponsored dissolution of such an entity is not something to be taken lightly or without a compelling need.”

“In short, the Complaint does not allege the type of public harm that is the legal linchpin for imposing the ‘corporate death penalty,’” Cohen added.
