About that trip to the “holler”

We all have heard about people driving country roads and coming to have a collision with a deer.  My buddy did warn me that deer were plenty in the area and to be careful. In fact, we did see a Bambi on the road and he/she did a quick getaway without consequences. I pressed on the gas to continue and the next thing I know:

PUFF!!

Blue feathers everywhere.

I hit a frigging bluebird! Who’s ever heard of hitting one of them things. You figure they can fly and are somewhat smart enough to avoid big honing moving machines. Not this idiot.

No damage to my truck.

Oh well.

Pepperidge Farm Remembers when…

Remember when gas was under $2 per gallon and a cart full of groceries for a family of four was about $125 per week?

Pepperidge Farm remembers because that was barely two years ago.

Now it’s over $3 per gallon and the sane groceries are coating about $180 per week.

I am trying to be nice….OK, not really.

Joe from The View From North Central Idaho has a recurring post with tweets from anti gunners and a lot of them repeat the stupid mantra of Big Gun = Small PeePee.  Today for some reason, I had to add my two cents:

I expect to be blocked real soon. 😀

This is because it’s all bread and circus

Having a good football team is clearly more important than a strong global strategic position.

In case you thought we were governed by serious people who thought past the next way to use corruption and power dealing to line their own pockets.

Some shooting done too: Grand Power Stribog SP9A3 Delayed Roller Lock 9mm

This is a very nice little gun, OK, not so little:

Chambered in 9 mm and possibly having the least recoil I ever experienced in a “carbine.” And I apologize for not remembering what kind of can has attached, but I am still getting used to shooting guns with them and enjoying the novelty too much.

There are plenty of reviews online so I won’t bore you with specs and it is too early for me to go chasing links. I can tell you it felt very comfortable and it was insanely accurate for a rifle-based pistol. Not a very light gun, but I did not feel it was too heavy, specially compared to a Kriss Vector which is the belle of the ball according to some.

I was told the price for this model/version (less can & red dot) was about $1,100 which does not make it cheap, but it is not unexpected as it looks and feel very well built. No alcoholic monkeys were used in the production of this weapon.
