She told investigators that she saw a man later identified as Charlie Holley looking out of a second-floor window and yelling toward her. She had recognized him from delivering previous packages to “Whitey White.”
As she approached the front door, the carrier said she noticed Holley pointing a black rifle at her, according to the complaint, which says he then instructed her to leave the package on the ground and open it.
She refused, saying she wasn’t allowed to open customers’ mail, after which investigators say Holley instructed her to move to the side.
The postal worker quickly left and got in her vehicle to drive away when “she heard a loud thud, which she believed was Holley shooting at her,” the complaint says.
A one-inch bullet hole was found in the back of the postal truck, authorities say. Nobody was hit.

I was born in Miami in the early 1980s.

I was taught about the evils of socialism, fascism, and big government by two groups of people: old Jews who experienced the Holocaust and old Cubans who experienced the Cuban Revolution.

There are many Holocaust memorials and museums that have captured the history of what happened.

There are very few museums that really capture the horrors of the Cuban Revolution.

If DeSantis really wants to do something significant, he needs to send stenographers and historians down to Calle Ocho and Little Havana in Miami and collect the oral histories of the Cubans who saw the Communist take over of the country and create a museum equivalent to the DC Holocaust Museum to tell their story.

We had Communists committing genocide 90 miles off the coast of his state and people today walk around in Che shirts and think the pictures of the old Chevys in Havana are quaint.

The real history of the Cuman Revolution needs to be captured before the people who saw it are all dead, and the horrors that they saw need to be taught in Florida public schools.

It is a moral duty.

Florida high school graduates should leave school with a burning hatred of Communism and a desire to punch the shit out of out-of-state college classmates who wear Che shirts.

The Reform and Reconstructionist Rabbinate will be the death of Judaism.

Two decades ago when I moved to Miami, South Beach was Gay paradise. I am going to say 60% to 70% of businesses catered to Gay clientele and although you also got to see the sad and seedy part of night life, the idea of targeting gays with homophobic violence was unheard of.

Now? South Beach has become… I really can’t define it other than a mix of crowds in an alcoholic debauchery and a sense of anything goes without consequences.

If you re Gay and want to enjoy Florida sun and beach time, I think Key West is still an option.

The last time a bunch of White people developed their own racial identity they conquered half of Europe and engaged in the systematic mass murder of 12 million people.

Roughly 60% of this country is non-Hispanic White, there are roughly 331 million people, meaning there are just shy of 200 million non-Hispanic White Americans.  If you manage to get 50% of them to feel guilty about being white and become obsequious to you, that leaves almost 100 million non-Hispanic White Americans who have become racialized and do not like you.

Do not do this in the United States, it will end very, very badly for everyone.

I believe we have been savvy enough to properly research gun laws for when we carry across state lines, but I will confess I keep forgetting about carrying knives and that is a field not as “even” (if there is such thing) as  concealed carry.

I have been spoiled by Florida’s Concealed Weapons License as it gives you a wide latitude when it comes to knives. And although many states are very knife friendly, there might be certain restrictions regarding some silly characteristic of the knife and some states actually frown upon anything that is not an “ordinary knife.”

IANAL Warning: I have no idea what legally defines an ordinary knife. I would have to look up the local jurisprudence and State Attorney interpretations, but I believe that something as well known as the Swiss Army Knife would be hard pressed to be considered anything but an ordinary knife.

I have told here many times I have not been without a Swiss Army knife since I was gifted one in my early teens. As great as they are, they are not “tactical” enough for some folks because the main blade does not lock open and that can be an issue when the doodoo hits the wind turbine.  But, there is one exception to the rule and that would be the Victorinox Swiss Army One-Hand Trekker.

This is one of my EDC knives and has to be because those are the house keys attached to it.  And although it is not in the official Swiss Army red, the shield and the cross are universally knows to be Swiss Army Knife.

It is one hand operated with the use of the thumb and quite comfortably to boot. But caveat: The main blade is the only one that locks, anything else is standard.  The other quirk is that the lock tab needs to be pushed to the right to unlock the blade rather than the traditional push to the left which should endear it with the Southpaws.

And I know the fans of Case knives will rightfully point out that the company does have several offerings with locking blades and what can be more “ordinary knife” than a Case?
