Well, it’s Independence Day 2017. Usually as it’s just the halfway point of the calendar year, I like to take stock of what’s taken place in the 2A community, and in our world as a whole. The Big thing of course is a President who is supposedly has committed himself to fixing this country’s ills. Next was that this President appointed a former Marine General as Secretary of Defense, and a former Navy Seal as Secretary of the Interior who rode to his first day of work on a horse, then repealed that stupid lead ammo ban!

But make no mistake folks, the Anti-rights crowd still wants to keep you from enjoying your firearms, keep you from Hunting if you so desire, keep you from carrying a handgun for personal protection, and keep you from having a firearms for protection in your home, and in your car.

So it’s up to you to be vigilant. It’s up to you to support candidates who will protect our rights, because it doesn’t happen without you.

You need to call your Senators and Congressmen because they are elected to enact laws that WE want enacted, not to “vote their feelings” on laws. Not to live in fancy houses and claim that $174,000 a year is not enough money to live on when were about to hit 20 Trillon in debt.

After Congressman Scalise was shot, another Congressman introduced a bill that would allow any Member of either house if they so desired, to carry a handgun for protection, even in DC. So I Say, “WHAT ABOUT ME” why can’t the “Average American” who has a CCW permit in his home state, have the ability to carry anywhere in the United States? Well that Bill, H.R. 38 sits not in Committee, but in Sub-Committee!!

To say that I’m outraged is putting it mildly. Did we not elect a Pro-Firearm majority House and Senate? I thought we did it so we could fix the country as the President promised. Not for the Liberal whiners to screw it up. Chuck Schumer and his stupid actress/comedy hack cousin Amy can prattle on all they want, but we have control of the country at least until 2020 and we better get off our rear ends or we will give control of our country back to the Socialists!

This is how I get when I don’t get to shoot! I’m recovering from a concussion back at the end of April, where I also broke a bone in my wrist of my shooting hand, so with my 57^th Birthday approaching, I’m looking forward to getting down to my indoor range to shoot (Shameless plug approaching) since we’re entering our 21^st day of +100 degree temps, and the only climate controlled, six 25 yard pistol lane, 4 100 yard rifle lane Shooting Range (also 50 yard Archery range!) is Copper Star Indoor Shooting range in Camp Verde Arizona. Sometimes I like Indoor ranges like this one because you can almost duplicate a situation like what you might encounter at your house during a home invasion.

Industry, so during the warmer months I like to get there every 10-14 days. The shop reminds me of the shop my Uncle was a part owner of in the 1960’s and 70’s. I hope you get to shoot this summer. Tom Gresham was invited to a radio show called Friendly Fire with hosts Clarke and Nancy on KSAL 1150AM. The theme was Gun Control and I am guessing Tom was invited to share his view on the matter. Host Nancy is an unapologetic Anti Gun but I must say Tom, very politely, just destroyed each and every point/falsehood she tried to bring. He never conceded or tried to answer a question under the premise she gave but corrected or challenged it being my special favorites of mine were ‘Assault Weapon’ at the beginning of the show and ‘trigger lock’ almost at the end.

Of course Tom Gresham has the ability that comes with 40 years around guns and fighting the system that wants to ban them. The show was was like watching a an unassuming master in any martial art teacha lesson to an unprepared brat, clean the floors and windows with his sorry self and still leave him some dignity to feel shame realize that he was way way wrong.

It is said that you never screw around with the guy(s) holding the microphone because you will always lose. I’ve never been accused of being rational or sensitive so here I go.

Tyler and Robert are upset. It seems I wasn’t too nice to them on a previous post and they took exception of my snarky comments. They claim that they do not ever favor a A Federal Database of Gun Owners and Federal Regulations to Carry Concealed but they are very much in favor of a Federal Concealed Weapons permit…Huh?

OK guys, here is how it works.  What do you think would be necessary to issue a Federal CCW? Let’s see I imagine that a federally issued CCW number must be connected to at least name and an address with very possibly a set of fingerprints and a full background check, right? So far so good. Now, I imagine that the immense majority of those applying for a FCCW permit do so because they are gun owners and want to carry anywhere in the US so we end up with information on somebody who owns a gun in the hands of the Feds. Oh yes, they will make a list of the permits issued, don’t you think? Congress will make sure it happens that way in order to check for mistakes, possible issuance of FCCW to criminals, terrorists and other undesirables plus they need to know the statistics in order to allocate funding and many other things important to Washington Bureaucrats. A compilation of such information is called a database thus making a FCCW a Federal Database of Gun Owners. I am a big fan of reciprocity between the States and also supported Senator Thune’s Bill because it was simple, effective and did not add crap or created a new Federal monster. What is really disturbing about your proposal is that it seems to me designed for convenience and laziness, not gun rights (14:05) ” We advocate a solution to having to go out to all these different states and get your concealed weapons permit through each individual State… I shouldn’t have to go out and get an Oregon permit and a California permit and an Utah Permit and a Florida Permit. It would be nice to just get one permit.” And of course, a Federal Concealed Weapons Permit seems to be just the ticket. But many others think not for the reasons posted above.

Now , if you think that you and me will be allowed to say how the FCCW law will be written, you have another thing coming. Assorted Congresspeople will soon inundate the bill with restrictions (Mag capacity, defining a pistol as assault weapon if it has some extra feature they don’t like, type of ammo used, registering the gun to be used as FWCC, etc), pork, fees, insurance requirements and assorted crap unrelated to the original idea (A de facto Federal Regulations to Carry Concealed) plus our goal has never been to add another gun law but to eliminate the 20,000 laws we have in the books already. At the end of the day we will probably end with a Frankenstein that will encroach even more in our Second Amendment Rights which will promptly be signed into law with an Administration like the one we have nowadays.  And all of this because you do not feel like taking the time and money to get CCWs from different states? Basically you admitted that your driving motive for a FCCW is laziness. Now, if you really want to make a difference and eliminate the reciprocity issue, campaign for a new version of the Thune Bill, if not just let the individual States work the Reciprocity issue on their own. It has been working fine so far albeit it might be too slow for some. If your State does not allow reciprocity, well it is a local issue that the gun owners in that state should confront and not ask the Feds to intervene. I think we have too much federal intrusion as of now.

At 13:22 you hear “I come up with ideas. If you have a better idea than that, please send me an email.” I am going to tell you here instead of via email: Coming up with ideas does not absolve you from idiocy. You must think through and analyze what could go wrong. The Coyote came up with many ideas, but never gave it much of an analysis with the obvious (and hilarious) consequences happening.

Now let’s take the Mandatory Training thing. My questions are: What kind of broadcast training you two have? Do you think you should be allowed to express your ideas via podcast just because you have the tools? Don’t you agree that mandatory training is necessary specially in this day and age of electronic media where it can reach instantly to other people? Can you imagine the damage unrestricted blogging or podcasting could have? Let’s do it for the Children! See? kinda silly.

Here is an idea. Are you Firearms Instructors? If not, become one. Go to all those Gun Stores that are doing such a bad job and tell them “Hey. We are Certified Instructors. We are here to offer basic firearms safety to your customers specially those buying a gun for the first time.” Strike some sort of deal and reach to those first time buyers. Offer Hunter Safety Classes or the NRA First Step classes for a reasonable fee. Contact other instructors and propose creating local network of instructors that are willing to teach basic gun safety for free if necessary and reachable by phone or a quick email. But to mandate anything before you can own a gun? Hell no! Why do we insist on treating the Second Amendment as an embarrassing Right for which we must voluntarily bend over and take it?

And yes guys, you can call me Popoo Head if you wish, it is your right. Wait, do you have a Federal License to Podcast? Are you properly trained in Podcast safety? Just joking.

And no, I won’t contact you via email if I disagree. You made it sound like you are afraid of being criticized in public and wish to hide any potential embarrassment. Bad move even if that was not your intention. Be open, man up, take it and give it back. You will screw up, everybody does. Just fix it and carry on.

In their latest podcast, the Gun Rights News (West Coast Edition 025 @ minute 50:50) duo actually proposed two things anathema to Gun Owners anywhere but the Left Coast: A Federal Database of Gun Owners and Federal Regulations to Carry Concealed anywhere in the country which is what you will get when you push for a Government-sponsored Federal Concealed Weapons Permit. Add to that the fact that they want taxpayers to pay for mandatory Gun safety classes or you don’t get a gun and I figure that unless they come up with an emergency podcast apologizing for their remarks, the cash-strapped Gun Rights Radio will find itself in the way of the now defunct Air America.

I do not think Robert and Tyler are moles for the Brady Bunch, but just a couple of well intentioned West Coast subjects of the Great Social Experiment that, although saying they believe in the Second Amendment, they are convinced that the average modern gun owner is a fumbling moron whose access to guns should be supervised.  In a way is sad to see that some people in the Left Coast are so behind the curve. The rest of the Second Amendment community have stopped apologizing and trying to compromise with the other side since the Assault Weapons Ban some 15 years ago when we realized that “compromise” and “common sense measures” were just key words denoting ‘give up your rights even more.’ Yes, all hell was raised when the public heard statements like “jackbooted thugs” (referring to the ATF) and “He (President Clinton) is willing to accept a certain level of killing to further his political agenda” but it shook the status quo and all of the sudden the Silent Majority was heard loud and clear even though Mainstream Media came down with all its might and every anti Second Amendment pundit took the pen or keyboard to label us as dangerous creeps. Then it came the ballot box and all of the sudden the “common sense” side lost big time by those who were tired of “compromise” and “common sense measures and laws”.

“But… but… but they are only advocating gun safety! You cannot be against gun safety you heathen!”  Well yes I can advocate against Gun Safety if it comes from Washington D.C. I mean really, Have you been paying attention at the trash coming out of D.C. in the last 60 years? Do you really think that a Government bureaucracy is going to make things safer? Will you really feel your Second Amendment right safe and sound with a Concealed Weapons database in the hands of the ATF? You actually think they would let Instructors from the NRA (the most hated Lobby Group in D.C.) be in charge of a Federal program? Dude, please!

Gun Deaths by accidents and negligence have taken a dive since the late 80’s. That people in our side use the specter of “Ohmyfuckinggodeverybodywithagunisamoronweneedregulation” shows the amount of disconnect between reality and their little piece of their imaginary world. Plus, let’s remember something: IT IS OUR RIGHT! Tyler and Robert would evacuate a block of baked clay if I were to demand that they were properly trained and certified by the FCC, NAB and FTC and whichever other regulatory commissions and groups are there before they even attempt to buy their first recording device or laptop to be used in Internet publishing. Yet, somehow it makes sense for them to demand those regulation for the folks buying a gun.

So to Robert and Tyler, grow a pair of gonads, share them and welcome to the 21st Century. Stop apologizing for the Constitution and the Bill of Rights.

Addendum: To Jerome. Dude, regarding your comments about Gary Tudesko’s alleged misconducts as student at Willows High I just have to say that either you went to school at a Buddhist monastery or were a certified nerd.  Anyway, whatever he allegedly did or did not do had no relevance in the case and you are as guilty as the Principal who brought out those events in order to taint his character and maintain his expulsion. Gary Tudesko was a kid who was roughly treated by a school principle drunk in power and false moral superiority. You sounded with just about the same amount of false moral superiority. Gary Tudesko is not an ambassador of anything, he is just a kid and probably better behaved than many. So, Next time restrain yourself from sounding like one of those preachers that speak righteousness but they are doing crystal meth and have a mistress on the side.

But, Can I support an organization that hosts minds like Robert, Tyler and Jerome? If they were the only game in the network, I would tell them to go to hell.
