Safe AK Safety Use.

We AK shooters have the tendency to manipulate our rifle with a bit less than safe and it is due to the annoyingly hard to operate safety lever.

As usual we tend to gunsmith a problem instead of solving it with proper training.

Adding a knob to help with leverage was the first thing done till somebody came up with an improved safety lever.
Still it takes a lot of index finger power to release the safety and basically the whole hand to re-engage it. But in this short video, Travis Haley shows us that a bit of practice is all we need to safely engage and dis engage the AK Safety Lever.

Never solve with gunsmithing what can be achieved with training.

Gun Free Gas Stations?

I realize that whenever a state passes Shall Issue Carry, the Demented Ones slip off the straight jackets and start proposing idiotic laws. But I have to say this one is a new record in foolishness.

Bill would ban guns from gas stations.

There’s no doubt that around parts of Milwaukee, plenty of shootings and armed robberies occcur at gas stations. Zepnick’s bill would essentially treat stations like some of the other places even CCW permit holders would have to disarm, like courthouses, prisons and schools. But it would also allow the usual exceptions for police, corrections officers, miltary personnel and private security guards who are on duty.
But going armed at a station would be a felony punishable by up to 18 months in prison.

They hate the Shall Issue thing in Wisconsin, don’t they? Have no doubt that the law is aimed at CCW Permit Holders.

We are supposed to believe that a criminal that is about to commit armed robbery (Class C felony) on a gas station and can face up to 40 years in jail, will somehow change his mind because he can actually serve 18 months for taking a gun into the newfangled Gun Free Zone Gas Station.

Cheesehead please!

(h/t to Black Man With A Gun)

Paul is the Walrus, Ringo is the Jackass.

He designed? Funny, I recall seeing something similar somewhere. Oh Yes! The United Nations!
And his statement is… well, a tad confusing. Italics are mine.

Guns are just becoming more and more (Er.. becoming what?). They’re like the death of choice. (Like Pepsi?) So we hope that young people will stop. (stop what?) I can’t stand up and dictate to the world: ‘it’s over — no more guns.’ (Oh sorry, were you actually standing?) I can just do what I do, and there’s another side to the story which is peace and love.” (My bet would be heavy usage of pain medication)

If anything, this conforms the suspicion I always had: the true talent behind The Beatles was George Martin.

CSGV: Guns On Campus? Cops wouldn’t know how to act.

I am always amazed at the Antis default position that all LEOs are a bunch of retards with badges. That goes double for a Chief LEO with an political ax to grind and has no qualms on crapping all over their subordinates.

Call me deluded but If a cop arrives to a location where there are several people with guns drawn, my bet is that he would be smart enough to withdraw to a safe location, call for reinforcements and stay the hell away from trouble.

Is there a history of cops shooting the wrong person in a confusing self-defense situation? Yes, we had those in the past and probably (and unfortunately) will have them in the future. But to imply that is safer for the unarmed public to remain at the mercy of a mass killer just to make sure the LEO does not make a mistake and shoots the wrong person when he arrives ten or twenty minutes later is just idiotic.

Brady and Virginia Tech suffer from Learning Disabilities.

So it happened again. Another shooting in the Virginia Tech Campus ending up with the death of a police officer and the perpetrator. Details are still sketchy but the Bradys went into full panic mode.

And now to the specific quotes:
Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence: Please, no more!
The definition of insanity is to repeat the same thing over and over and expect a different result. You kept saying that a Gun Free Campus would not suffer from crime even before the VT massacre, you were wrong then and you were wrong now.

Leonard Hawke: Damn NRA
Lenny, don’t shoot the messenger. They were warned that the false sense of security of declaring VT a Gun Free Zone could be deadly and it has, again.

Joe Mooring: I have a child at VA Tech. I just donated to the Brady Campaign. Seemed like a good idea…
I bet they feel the same way, they have been short of cash lately and had to sell your info to “selected merchants.”

Elizabeth Jablonski: When in the world will this ever stop? It seems like it is getting worse as time goes on. Are our great-grandchildren going to have to wear bullet-proof vests in school.
Just ask our cousins in the Gun Free British Isles. Kevlar-lined uniforms for school children are all the rage up there. That is one for the FAIL column in my opinion.

I am done asking if they will ever learn. It is now clear that they have a learning disability because nobody can be that purposedly wrong so many times in a row.

Nonverbal learning disabilities often manifest in motor clumsiness, poor visual-spatial skills, problematic social relationships, difficulty with math, and poor organizational skills.

Yep, sort of fits.

UPDATE: All Nine Yards writes about the VT Response System and how good was it.
