“We paid for the first night and now we’re demanding that the city and county pay for the other nights we’ve been here.”

For context:
Over 40 Units At Port Of Tacoma Travelodge Occupied To Provide Emergency Housing
We’re on day 4 of the hotel occupation and settling in for night 4! [According to The News Tribute, “After paying for the initial night, the occupants have refused to pay or leave for four days.”] Negotiations with the hotel owner, city, and county start tomorrow, but we have 50-70 people ready to defend if needed. Housing activists from Tacoma Housing Now, Seattle (the Yellow House), and Olympia have coalesced into a broad Puget Sound coalition that will support housing actions in each other’s cities. Most of our medics on-site are veterans of the recent far-Right battles in Olympia that saw two antifascist protestors shot.
Here is a flyer they released:
In short, Antifa rented 16 rooms of a motel on Christmas to house 40 homeless people. They are continuing to occupy the rooms and are not paying.
They claim that they should be able to stay there because the owner got PPP money and they want the city and state to pay for outstanding costs.
They are calling for a small militia to defend them from eviction by police.

The owner of the Travelodge franchise is being held hostage. The city is negotiating with the activists while they destroy his property and refuse to pay him.
I am reminded, once again, of this scene from Doctor Zhivago.
The communists have taken a building in Tacoma and are using it to get what they want. Oilfield Rando is right, in modern Leftist America, violence works and might makes right.
When communists occupy a building and take a hostage, SWAT should be sent in to clear them out with MP5s. Instead, they get grant money.
This will only embolden them to occupy more private businesses and take more hostages.
Also, I’d like to point out something from the article above:
“Most of our medics on-site are veterans of the recent far-Right battles in Olympia that saw two antifascist protestors shot.”
They consider themselves to be veterans of a war against the United States and the “far-Right.”
They know they are at war with us, why don’t we acknowledge that fact?
Want to bet their “medics” are totally incapable of dealing with any real injuries, and did more harm than good to those shot?
No bet … I seem to recall some videos of them trying to help someone who had been shot with a rubber bullets.
If the Keystone Kops had done first-aid skits…
Why is power still on, and fire sprinklers off?
Cut the power and water.
Hire goons to clear them out.
Sue Tacoma housing now for back rent.
No matter what happens, bet the rooms will be trashed. But that’s ok, because the hotel has insurance.
Reminder:
Antifa was able to raise $300,000 via donations for a family of grifters to finally repay a foreclosed mortgage in a matter of days.
But now they need the city to come up with $640/night or else.
I never ever thought I’d be typing this but …
At some point, some lessons could be learned from the MOVE experience in Philadelphia.
Part of the problem is Antifa’s actions. Part of the problems are the homeless who are listening to them, it seems to me, and choosing to not do what’s right.
This seems like a really simple solution, honestly. Just barricade the doors and burn the place down. Pin the fire on Antifa, and collect insurance money.
