Stole this from reddit:
My boss pulled me off to the side today to ask me if I were carrying… only issue was he knew I was. I had spoken to my boss multiple times over the years if he was okay with me carrying, and he assured me everything was okay and even expressed interest in carrying himself.
So today, a part time employee quits and blames it on me for “flaunting my gun around”; The employee who reported me was someone who I greatly respected. Now, my boss is telling me concealed carry is no longer going to be allowed. I take my CCW very seriously, have always taken great lengths to be inconspicuous… there is absolutely nothing I could have done to allude my carrying besides my work stories of going to the range.
I feel confused and angry about the charge, feeling as though it was purely a personal attack. Now I’m being threatened to have myself disarmed over a blatantly false accusation… I have been at my work for 7 years and have taken on a fairly large role in its development.
Would you quit a job over being disarmed for something unjust even if you loved it and didn’t want to leave?
This here is a lesson: Never speak about guns, specially if you carry concealed, in the workplace. My IDPA competition was used against me twice in a job I had costing me a promotion. If you carry concealed, you do so you do not have to depend on a third-party for your defense and be a surprise to your attacker, so why would you announce to anybody you are carrying?
Concealed Means Concealed from both other eyes and minds.
I keep bringing up the parallels between being a gun owner and being a homosexual.
The “don’t talk about it”, “hide what you are” tactic most emphatically DID NOT WORK for gays and acceptance.
Freak the shit out of the mundanes pride parades did.
We cannot lay low enough for this to blow over us.
I don’t talk to anyone, including relatives about my guns as the red flag laws would allow them to make a comment to the cops about the guns.
Shoot shovel n shaddup….. oh wait, you said at work…. yes, dont say a word ta no one.
this is not bullshit. I do “thunderwear holster” at certain places that my work takes me to. No one is going to touch my junk but I know “it” is there if I need it. And 1000+ on not letting anyone know about your “hobby”
Or, and and I know this is a radical idea, we can start holding these hypocritical scumbags accountable when they use social terrorism to damage innocent lives.
