4th July was because of a Scottish Kings greed. It has nothing to do with British troops that are American inhabitants now after York Town they saw a way to be free from the Royal yoke of madness and went over in boat loads to New England. We are you now or you are us then. Just that way it is ,Oh! and George Washington was from County Durham in England. Most of your early leaders were from English and now from Ireland and today from the old British colonies of African peoples. We Brits do not have 4th July marked down not even the 18th June either so in conclusion it may be said that in fact the British do not celebrate at all. Christmas is between the days when the race card is the way to make a day of it. Hope that helps you in this singular matter of nonsense. Low key and stiff upper lip be the only way to relax.
