Slightly off topic, but not unexpected at all… Two days ago, Google celebrated 50 years of the LGBT rights movement with a Google Doodle. Today, on the 75th Anniversary of perhaps one of the most significant events in the last 1000 years, silence.

Re Google, not surprising.
I find that, while some of Google’s specialty searches (e.g. scholar.google.com) work better, for the most part I’ve found DuckDuckGo to be a pretty good replacement for googling in general.
