Again quoting the EU:

They added: “The European Union is taking strong action to limit the spread of the virus.”

The EU condemns Trump for imposing a European coronavirus travel ban ‘unilaterally and without consultation’

Yes, we need to get their permission for amazing healthcare strategies like this:

When his sister died after contracting the novel coronavirus, Luca Franzese thought that things couldn’t get much worse.

Then, for more than 36 hours, the Italian actor and mixed martial arts trainer was trapped at home with Teresa Franzese’s decaying body, unable to find a funeral home that would bury her.

“I have my sister in bed, dead, I don’t know what to do,” Franzese said in a Facebook video over the weekend, pleading for help. “I cannot give her the honor she deserves because the institutions have abandoned me. I contacted everyone, but nobody was able to give me an answer.”

‘Italy has abandoned us’: People are being trapped at home with their loved ones’ bodies amid coronavirus lockdown

I am pretty sure that since the era of the cavemen, the idea of not disposing of corpses has been proven to be not very conductive to proper health among the living. I don’t know, maybe the European Union is still studying this fact and will come up with a solution sometime in the next 2 or 3  decades.

And that was not an isolated case:

Yet another disturbing scenario played out this week when a woman was quarantined alongside the body of her dead husband. Giancarlo Canepa, the mayor of Borghetto Santo Spirito in northern Italy, told CNN that the man died at 2 a.m. Monday, but that nobody would be allowed to remove his body until Wednesday morning.

Sorry, my mind simply does not comprehend such level of ineptitude. Even during the Black Plague, there was regular removal of bodies from affected homes. But we are in the 21st Century and apparently European Health Care Officials can’t get shit started.

  1. Doesn’t Italy have Universal Healthcare?

I’ve seen sjw’s blaming ‘capitalism’ for this.

  2. I think Italy also was the place that announced a nationwide travel ban while all the trains were still running normally. They must have been thinking along the lines of “restraining orders” — the fiction that issuing pieces of paper has an actual effect.
