They posted this just 3 days ago and got brutally called as a lie.

So today, they “fix” the lie with a load of bulls… misinformation.

“The NRA is trying to jam a bill through Congress that would let felons and domestic abusers buy gun silencers without a background check, simply by finding an unlicensed seller.”

It does not matter for Everytown that it is illegal for Private Citizen (A.K.A unlicensed seller according to Bloomberg & Co) to knowingly sell a silencer or doing a Straw Purchase for a felon or convicted of domestic abuse, because the truth has never been their goal.

There are no elimination of the rules here. You won’t find firearms silencers next to lawnmower mufflers at the Home Depot (essentially, they are the same thing) nor will they be picked up at Walmart by just showing ID. You still will need to go through the background check and fill the ATF 4473. The only thing being done is eliminating the stupid regulations and taxes on basically a bunch of baffles inside a pie that reduce the detonations of a firearm to a less damaging levels.

If your cause is righteous, why lie?

  1. “This legislation merely relaxes common-sense gun safety precautions, and it puts lives at risk from gun violence.”

There’ll be blood in the streets!! Pandemonium!! People shot willy-nilly!!! Dogs and Cats living together!!! A zombie apocalypse!! Eeeeeek!!!!!

Yeesh. Just another variation of the parade of horribles that we’ve been told would happen every time gun regulation was deregulated – from the first legal concealed carry, to guns on campuses, etc. etc. Every time, the sky was going to fall and there would be carnage.

When have they ever been right? EVER? So now, hear we go again: public safety, “common sense” regulation, yadda, yadda, ad infinitum. Blah, blah.

They were wrong before; they are wrong now. What else is new.

    1. There were wrong before, are wrong now, AND always will be wrong in the future. Simply because they aren’t interested in facts and truth, but only in the invention of scary stories to justify their anti-freedom schemes.

  2. I hold an 07 manufacturer FFL and a title II license which allows me to make and sell surpressors , all this bill does is get rid of the 200 dollar fee and the 9 month wait. You still have to go thru a NICS check and civilians can NOT sell surpressors.

    1. Yes, there’s the fee and the wait. But isn’t the NFA authorization discretionary, sort of like “may issue”? And does it involve giving up your 4th amendment rights — or does that only apply to the FFL?
Does the bill allow me to build a suppressor for my own use, the way current law allows me to build a firearm for my own use?
