Sean Connery passed on today at the age of 90.

Besides the Bond movies, my fondest memories will be from Zardoz (takes a secure man to dress like that) and from Indian Jones and the Last Crusade.

PS: I cherish his particular scene from The last Crusade.

I suddenly remembered Charlemagne.

Semi-retired like Vito Corleone before the heart attack. Consiglieri to J.Kb and AWA. I lived in a Gun Control Paradise: It sucked and got people killed. I do believe that Freedom scares the political elites.

  1. His last movie was The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. He had such a terrible time, and the movie flopped so hard, that he ragequit acting after that. The story goes that his agent suggested he do that movie instead of taking the role of Gandalf because comic book movies would bring in more fans than fantasy books.

    1. I didn’t realize it before but you’re right, that was his last role. I actually liked the movie too.

  2. Time comes for all of us, and 90 is a good long run. Not, perhaps, before your time … but before we were ready.

    Fare well, good thespian.

    1. Yes, that’s a good one. Also an oldie but goodie: “The man who would be King”, from a story by Kipling, set in “Kafiristan”. I didn’t learn until years later that there actually is such a place (a province, not a country).
