The other thing that Luddites forget, or ignore, is that development of steam engines at the same time that slavery was eliminated in the west is not a coincidence.
Machines doing work removed the need for people held as slaves doing that work.

I’m confused here….am I supposed to hate whales, or hate fracking? Or hate the fracking whales?
