Hey @blinkfitness: we literally just signed a bill into law in New York to stop business from doing this. You could wait until it takes effect in February & face consequences for violating the law (plus public shaming), or you could do the right thing now, and change your policy. https://t.co/dPlxlf3fdA

Look, I hate terrible membership cancelation rules too.
I fought with Gold’s Gym to cancel my membership after I moves to a state that didn’t have a Gold’s Gym in it.
Canceling a cable company is even worse.
These fuckers are like the mob, its practically blood out.
I’m happy if a state wants to change the law to make it easier for a customer to cancel a membership they not like.
What us unacceptable is FOR A FUCKING STATE SENATOR TO GO ON TWITTER AND SHAME AND THREATEN A BUSINESS BY SICCING THE FUCKING SOCIAL MEDIA HATE MOB ON THEM.
That is some fascist fucking behavior.
In 2020 it’s perfectly on brand for a Democrat politician.
This asshole is the head of the New York Senate Judiciary Committee.
He should know better but this is the way. They want to publicly shame and destroy you than. Any opportunity for a struggle session is a good one.
It doesn’t even need to be political anymore. They will threaten you with the mob for anything.
He’s also threatening to punish them for present day behavior when the law goes into effect in the future. Because ex post facto laws are totes cool.
This is why I hate social media like Twatter and Fishbook.
