General Bill by Polo (CO-SPONSORS) FernándezState Preemption of Firearm and Ammunition Regulation: Specifies that local government entity is not preempted from regulating sale of firearms or ammunition on property owned by that entity.Effective Date: upon becoming a lawLast Event: Now in Criminal Justice Subcommittee on Thursday, December 19, 2019 4:10 PM
A county, agency, municipality, district, or other entity from adopting an ordinance that regulates the sale of firearms or ammunition on property that is owned by that county, agency, municipality, district, or other entity.
Many Gun Shows are held in county property because they do have the facilities that can hold tables upon tables of firearm and people coming and going. There are more than one county (Broward) that would love say no to the use of their stuff for gun shows. They had issues after the Parkland shooting because they wanted to stop the gun show at the War Memorial Auditorium.
Going to private locales would probably mean higher prices and that is if the corporations would allow to go with a Gun Show.
It appears the gun grabbing tyrants there have learned from the mistake Missoula, MT made when they pulled their stunt passing several anti 2A laws that are in direct conflict to our Federal and State Constitutions. They have directly violated our State preemption laws, and they’ve gotten away with it thus far (We’re still fighting them). Our preemption laws are very clear on this: THEY SHALL NOT… We’ve dragged them through the AG and the courts, with a win at the AG’s office and in the MT Supreme Court. While we’re fighting the stunt they pulled in Missoula, we wrote a couple of bills to stop them. Knowing the anti gun dim governor BS bullock, would veto them (he vetoes nearly ALL pro 2A bills, as he’s out slapping backs telling Montanans he’s a gun guy), we wrote two bills last session (HB 357 & HB 325). Both bills passed both sides of our State legislature, only to be vetoed by bullock (of course). The fun part is that HB 357, when vetoed by the MT governor, would become a BALLOT INITIATIVE! So now, what we have is HB 357 becomes a ballot issue for the voters in November (LR 130 on the ballots). In other words, we yanked the issue out of the hands of the gun grabbers in the legislature and city/county agencies, and are bringing it directly to the voters. Montana—-VOTE YES ON LR 130 in November!!!!!!!!! STOP THE GUN GRABBERS! We will not allow a patchwork of anti gun laws across our State.
