In a followup statement at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nelson’s campaign announced that overnight the lead shrunk to a 0.4 percent lead for Scott, which is within the one-half percent margin to trigger a recount under state law.

Nelson, Scott race headed to recount

I will hold my crow meal for a while. I am sure Broward, Palm Beach and Miami are engaged in printing some “forgotten” ballots.

  1. Well, with snipes running broward elections you knew this was coming and it was her county that was short precincts.

  2. Bumped into another FL recount:

“The race for state agriculture commissioner appears too close to call.
As of this morning, Republican candidate Matt Caldwell was leading Democrat Nikki Fried with 50.08 percent of the vote.
That close margin is likely to trigger an automatic recount with just 12,521 votes between them. An automatic recount happens when the different is less than half a percentage point, and this race was at .16 percent.”

  3. This is perfect. Even if Nelson takes the seat, the Republicans still hold a Senate majority, and this sends a message that you don’t screw with Florida gun owners. Maybe Republicans will remember this next time.
