There are no longer any F1 cars with standard transmission. In fact, there are F1 pilots who had never driven a vehicle with standard shift. I was shocked when I heard that one.

Holy sj1t, and I thought a quick game of Mechwarrior 3 or Mechwarrior 4 was a rather complex control schema, but that steering wheel is on a whole new level.
A fellow engineer told me about that around ’05. It turns out an automatic can shift at least 10x faster than the fastest human, and it even selects the right gear more often. It’s all about those split seconds.
