“After careful consideration, we are closing some stores in locations that have experienced a high volume of challenging incidents that make it unsafe to continue to operate, to open new locations with safer conditions,” a Starbucks spokesperson told Insider. The incidents involve drug use in stores by customers and other members of the public reported by workers.
The closures are a move to make Starbucks locations safer for customers and employees, the company said, echoing a letter from senior VPs of US operations Debbie Stroud and Denise Nelson sent to employees on July 11. The company also gives local leaders the authority to close bathrooms, reduce seating, and take other measures to keep conditions safe for employees.

All cities that have gone Woke on prosecutions and letting criminals go free on bail reform.
Starbucks supported these prosecutors and Leftist criminal justice reforms, and now their stores are so dangerous, seeing so many violent incidents, that they have to shut them down for employee safety.
We are living in interesting times.
We are watching a social order based on an ideology that comes from a position of absolute privilege collapse in real time before our eyes.
Fun aint it?
Have the cries to cancel Starbucks for its racist policies begun?
Makes me glad I have a coffee maker and microwave at home. Some good coffee, a Jimmy Dean breakfast sandwich, and I have a Starbucks breakfast faster than in-store at least than half the price.
24/7 stores are dead or dying in the cities. Part of it is the lack of employees. Part of it is the need for more security. The local third/fourth ring suburb of Minneapolis grocery store I shop at now has an armed security guard this Spring. 24/7 stores and services will hang on longer in outstate areas where the vast majority of people are law abiding and the police and prosecutors still believe in the rule of law.
Leftists will never consider their actions may have adverse effects or unintended consequences until they have to live through the results. Unfortunately, the rest of us that could predict the negative outcomes have to live through the results before the leftists will get their just rewards.
.
Finally, the fruits of the leftists labor are taking root. The conveniences they used to enjoy are leaving because of the choices they made at the ballot box. Too bad it took so long to happen.
When I was in NW Minnesota recently, almost all the stores and eateries closed by 9 PM. I asked a couple of the staff at a few of them why and they confirmed that they cannot get reliable staff to cover all the shifts. These are Large Nationwide chains: Mc Ds, BK, TB, and Applebee’s. Applebee’s was open until 10 pm, for the “Late Night Crowd”.
Even in my home area in FL, there is a Checkers that I would stop at occasionally on the way to work. They started closing at 8 pm on weekdays and 9 pm on Friday and Saturday due to lack of staff. The last time I went through their drive-through one afternoon, there were 2 people working, the manager and some Newbie high-schooler trainee. The poor kid looked like a deer in headlights and could not even count back my change. The manager took over, apologized for the slow service and upgraded my combo to the next size for free.
I spoke to a friend of mine who manages a local big box store the other day and she stated they cannot keep decent staff for any length of time. Ether they apply to satisfy the unemployment requirements and never show up for the interview or if hired, they quit after a couple of shifts.
More and more I see signs in windows at the entrance to stores stating something to the effect of: “Be kind to the staff that are here today. At least they showed up.”
