A woman is safe this morning after being robbed at gunpoint overnight by a man who had his face covered, according to officers with the Corpus Christi Police Department.
Just before 4 a.m., officers say a man walked into a business on the 4500 block of Kostoryz with a gun and robbed a young woman who was closing the store.
“We were told that it was an assault-type rifle,” Senior Officer Billy Gaines with the Corpus Christi Police Department said.
The man got away with a small amount of cash and some of the woman’s personal items, Gaines said. One other person was inside the business at the time and was also uninjured.

If there was something that would have made the robber change his mind, some sort of hint or indication.
I guess the Gun Free Zone signs are still not working in successfully stopping crime, are they?
Hat Tip Ken O.
It looks like they forgot to hook up the power leads to that sign, so the anti-gun force field didn’t work.
But this should have worked twice a good, the sign is in English and Spanish.
How can this be? It’s a gun free zone the magic sign says so. Perhaps if she hit him with the sign that would work
Maybe the poor robber cant read…… heh heh.
If the clerk had been armed and shot the robber, would they arrest her for hunting over bait?
Hunting over bait is legal in Texas.
The sign must be broken.
Gunbuster signs have no standing under Texas law. So it’s the license to carry gun nuts’ fault for passing the law – the perps know they aren’t breaking any law by bringing a gun (insert sarcasm symbol here)
