Probably already been hit by a car, and the deputy was euthanizing it? I had to call to have a deputy do the same for a deer I struck on the way to work. Our Sheriff also also has a rotating list of people that will pick up the deer.
Speaking of unpopular, all the TV Weather people here in MN were saying, “Don’t Blame Me!”, back in April. Good News! We went from an 18″ snowstorm to 70degF days in a week. Finally!!!
I’ve seen people getting worked up over this, but they don’t know what they’re talking about. I have groundhogs/woodchucks in my backyard, those thing flee in terror at the sight or sound of a human. This one was either injured or sick/rabid.
Definitely shocking: You don’t shoot small rodents like that with a duty handgun from that angle on an asphalt road. That’s probably gonna ricochet into traffic.
